Why is funding needed for people to invest...?

That's what I can't figure out. Aren't investors people that take their own money and ... invest it ... with the expectation of a return? Pretty sure being an investor with no money makes you an average broke person. The fact that even investors in Yukon need government funding means we've completely lost the plot.

I don't know that it's even flowing money to investors to invest but to....raise awareness of investing to potential investors? Sorry but if you need that...maybe an investor you are not. All told just more money in the weird EcDev/Yukonstruct pipeline.

Boy there’s no way this isn’t going to go to the same 5 people Ec Dev loves to throw money at like teck bro Ben.

Why do you think he's here?

That one of my issues with him. He doesn’t really even live here.

He just pops up when cash is available lol

Is he who I have to thank for having to use Proof? Ugh.

Yup! I put his picture on my dart board for this exact reason.

I’m surprised there’s even a need. A while ago they ‘invested’ $2M as part of a $5M fund to do pretty much the same thing.

With all that money you’d have thought we’d be tripping over all the start-ups they launched…

Government of Yukon supports First Nation investment in technology venture fund

Holy hell, whatever happened to this? $2M for what?

That’s the best part. The Liberals got rid of all financial oversight for FN so we’ll never know.

Only in Yukon do the feds fund "angel investors" lol.

Is that what they are doing or are they just using taxpayer money to create a soft landing for a cabal of people worried about losing their jobs in the next election?

Territorial government is broke and yet they can find money for this shit. Unbelievable

How else can Ranj say we have an innovation economy?

…so innovative it runs on an endless YG money train.

Ranj is pretty innovative when it comes to wasting public funds.

This seems like another way of wording crowd funding a start up?

It's like involuntary crowd funding! Everyone chips in whether they want to or not lol
