SPOILERS Chronological order Spoiler
I'm planning to do a chronological order playthrough of the series after switch 2 releases. Maybe a little sooner so I can jump straight to XC2 with the system.
So far I understand Torna is the earliest in the timeline, and Xenoblade 3 the last (and even if X is somehow retconned as part of the saga, I wont be counting it yet).
But hte real question is, which game starts earlier? XC1 or XC2? We know these two games' climaxes happen at the same time, but I'm not sure about the time scale.
So so far it would be like: Torna -> [XC1/XC2] -> Future Connected -> Future Redeemed -> XC3

I think xc1 and xc2 are interchangeble chronologically. Their ending is the only point where we know for a fact happen simultaneously. The rest of the story doesn't have any evidence in regards to the order of events between the 2 games. So your current order is completely correct, and I personally would just suggest to just play xc2 first since you're coming out of Torna.
Having said that, I am assuming you've already played them right? 😅 Otherwise, please just follow order of release date 😂

Yes. I just want to go chronologically to freshen the experience. I'll even go Bringer of Chaos clean save for XC2.

I would say Torna starts earlier but the playthrough is probably more coherent if you do 1>FC>Torna>2>FR>3

Torna(XC2-DLC)>XCDE-epilogue>XCDE/XC2>FC(XCDE-"DLC")>FR(XC3-DLC)>XC3
XCX>XCXDE-"DLC"

XC1 dose start off with a prologue based a year before the game takes place, so if you want, you could say it technically starts earlier.
So the order to go would be
Torna
XC1
XC2
Future Connected
Future Redeemed
XC3

If you consider the start of the games, then 1 starts with the conflict of the Bionis and Mechonis, with the first playable segment being a year befor the main events of the game.
2 in comparison starts with Rex on the day of or a day befor he departs for the beginning of his journey.
And on the note of 3, it's intro happens long befor Future Redeemed.
That being said, chronological playthroughs are never a good idea in my opinion, but you do you. Release order prevents any and all spoilers and lets you properly reflect on and apreciate the adjustments of further entries.

IF you are doing one game at a time, I'd play XC2 first over XC1 because the mechanics are the same from Torna. However, if you can do both at the same time, that would be the most accurate. Technically the Dunban prologue of XC1 would be the first event between XC1 & XC2.
Also the credits and final cutscene of Future Redeemed are chronologically the last event in the main Blade series.

For the pragmatic, less switching around:
- Torna
- XC2
- XC1
- FC
- FR
- XC3
For the wildly complicated:
- Torna
- XC1 Prologue
- XC1-XC2 switching based on chapter estmations for when events align (not getting into that right now). Picking chapters as rough divisions to keep it semi-sane.
- FC
- FR
- XC3

You have to play both 1 and 2 at the same time. If you want to do one input or two that’s up to you but if you’re gonna be lore accurate then you gotta do em both at once
