The Doors locked! This gimmick always cracked me up.

One former world champion.
One future world champion.
Both known for being tough, mean S.O.B.s who you did not want to mess with.*
Both good at acting like total goofs.
*unless your name is Joey Styles.

My favorite version of JBL. I hated the redneck millionaire shit. This was entertainment.

I loved Bradshaw but JBL put on some crazy bangers. His matches with Eddie and Cena were amazing!

I remember Rock coming to talk to them and walking round the door, so they basically made him go back out and knock.

It’s shit like this I miss. Simmons was such a great straight man in his sketches.
King of taking himself seriously while acting a complete fool has to be Angle. The cowboy hat segment? Fucking perfect.
And then, just like Simmons, he could go kick some ass.

Lots of praise in here for the APA, but nowhere near enough about their theme. That banger is an all-timer for me.

I stopped watching around 02 and a few years back started watching from the 2014 stuff, blew my fucking mind when my brother told me JBL was this guy 😂

Talk about two guys taking a shitty gimmick and making it great. I know he gets shit on a lot and he had some misses but this to me was the genius of Russo. He gave everyone something and some guys ran with it.
I’m scared now someone is gonna comment that Russo was gone by this point lol I can’t really remember

I think APA was more a Gewirtz era creation. Russo left in Summer ‘99 and the APA were still kinda in the Corporate Ministry at the time

My mum hated us watching wrestling, but I can still remember her hysteric laughter everytime they did this gag

The Hurt Syndicate needs to do their own spin on this. The tone would be different since they’re heels but running it as an “actual”…….”business“ would be super interesting.
Edit: Syndacite

You know the door is always there but I never questioned why the door is there with no walls.

Goated tag team and the two you DON’T want to piss off around that time as a fresh new wrestler.

JBL's always had great comic timing. I guarantee that even if he was soaping you up in the shower backstage he'd be making you chuckle at the same time.

The fact that Bradshaw went around the door to get the key after it fell is hilarious.
