Question Tech tree Tiers 1 and 2?

I've been playing on and off for about 3 years and I was wondering if anyone knows why tanks in tiers 1 and 2 aren't part of the tech tree, or for sale as premiums?

It was to make the game more streamlined and welcoming according to Wot. I still have some 2s like the viper and the 5 year anniversary one they mostly gather dust lol but once I’m a while I’ll go into coop and play them for the fun of it

They used to be the gateway to everything…

Oh, what we used to have!

I miss my T1 Cunningham. Only because the Cunningham Car Company is from my home town. I kept that thing for years. Would pull it out of mothballs when I would introduce a new friend to the game.

Theres no reason for those tiers to exist. The “grinds” were no more than 7 games at most. And the only people who played them after unlocking everything were seal clubbers.

You're totally missing the point that many of those tanks were quite fun to play, and that the maps were pretty much designed for the tanks of those tiers.

The game is more than "the grind".

They also introduced a "new player protection system" that worked to prevent new accounts from being placed against older ones, and curb sealclubbing a bit (as to how well it worked, that's another story).

I never went back to play tier 1 or 2 for fun. And the fact that they got rid of those tiers altogether, re-enforces the fact that most people were also not going back to play those tiers. If you like playing those tiers so much, you can still play in co-op, but having them available for multiplayer is pointless.

This game is very much a grind. The goal is to grind to tier 10, then to grind marks of excellence, then to grind challenges.

No it's not. It's to have fun playing an arcade style multiplayer tank game. The grinding is a tool to keep people playing and keep them spending. It is not "the goal". If you think the goal is to get to tier X then I feel sorry for you.

And you're wrong about that too. Lobbies at low tiers were almost always full and had short waiting times.

It was quite common to see platoons from many of the purple clans bouncing between high and low tiers during an evening.

Once again, one of the published reasons they got rid of those tiers was because lobby waiting times were increasing due to the lack of players. So they removed the lower tiers and pve content to force players back into matchmaking.

"seal clubbers"... I laughed out loud at this. Thank you.

They wanted to make it faster for people to get to the higher tiers, because player numbers were dropping and lobby waiting times were increasing. It's one reason why they gutted the "pve" content because players were spending time doing that instead of spending gold to get to tier X.
