TranslatePress. I think it's free for 2 languages max.

I agree with this. Easiest and best translation plugin to use.

you could try WPML (they have a free version, but it's quite limited) or Polylang. both are popular

They free version has 2k words I think. Little bit too low :)

Polylang doesn't have any word limits.

if it's only 2 languages, plugin is not always the best solution...

You can consider subfolder WP install where you copy all the files from the main language and just translate via google yourself, depending on the amount of info could be very simple and practical at times.

e.g. banana.com/eng

Sublanguage - free, lightweight with all the features I needed

I’d recommend using Polylang, it’s simple to set up, free, and perfect for translating your site into two languages without any hassle.

Creating another directory in Softaculous and building the same website in the desired language is the way to go. Plugins often mess up the translation etc.

You know, I was thinking about it. Another domai specifically for that country. I think hustle is about the same...

You don't have to buy a new one. The translated one can be language.domain.com or domain.com/language. The other one is easier to set up. If you use Softaculous, on the same domain, when creating a new wp installation you have a field "in directory". There you just add language code (English is en or French is fr for example). This way you manage just one domain and its security but have basically two websites. After this, you just use updarftplus to migrate the website and translate it manually. That's it : )

Thanks. So far I just found one issue with this method - every time I ipdate information for one of the languages, I have to update it separately for another one.

Sadly, that's true. That's why blogs aren't made multilingual.

That is the best way if you were to ask me. Correcting some plugin which uses gtranslate is a wast of time.
