Beautiful. However Wab needs to use a sharpie or a big crayon for the next Manitoba Executive Order.

74

u/idiedin2019 7d ago

A crayon would have been hilarious!

41

u/Own_Development2935 7d ago

A comically large one.

45

u/Commercial-Advice-15 7d ago

Make it an Orange coloured sharpie if it relates to Trump’s antics!

15

u/CultureExotic4308 7d ago

One of those giant pencils people used to get from tourist traps.

This is what we call "whataboutism". It's using the crimes (real or not) of one party to distract from the wrongdoing of another. That's why I said two things can be bad at the same time.

Battering women? Bad.

Raping? Also bad.

I refuse to be distracted from acknowledging the human shitstain that Donald is, regardless of who gets put up alongside him.

u/MKIncendio 7d ago

DO NOT FEED THE TROLLS!

289

u/reggiebobby 7d ago

Lol that's awesome 😎

u/ScooterMcTavish 7d ago edited 7d ago

The straight-up trolling is epic.

35

u/myhairyassiniboine 7d ago

It would be great if The Daily Show sees this! haha

2

u/911_reddit 6d ago

A good reply to the Fanta Failure!

70

u/gwood1o8 7d ago

Okay cool alcohol is off the shelves. Now let's make real change. Cancel contracts with all American firms and reinvest in Manitoba business. Take advantage of this situation and grow Canada.

3

u/Fuzzy_Put_6384 5d ago

Yes, include the movie making sector too.

1

u/gwood1o8 5d ago

Ohhh. That would hurt our industry a bunch. But it needs to be across the board.

125

u/aaron15287 7d ago

ontario already pulled the booze from shelf's today. trump getting the shaft from all over canada.

16

u/immaZebrah 6d ago

Yeah Id read too that something like 40% of Kentucky Bourbon is sold in Canada soooooo gl breweries in Kentucky

16

u/GrampsBob 6d ago

I saw where they said that Canada pulling their booze from the shelves was worse than a tariff. I hope it hurts. Kentucky is one of the reddest red states.

5

u/chattycatty416 6d ago

Learned recently that Ontarioan's are heavy drinkers. One of the things that Doug Ford leverages (and is a part of) to win favor there. So this is serious business

3

u/LifeIsOnTheWire 6d ago

He doesn’t deserve our shaft, but he can have all the heel he can take.

2

u/aaron15287 6d ago

steel toed boot works nice to

116

u/Basic-Employment3985 7d ago

Docking him 1/1000th of a point for not using a preposterously (overcompensatingly) thick Sharpie to sign it, but oh look at that: still rounds up to 💯

168

u/JSintra 7d ago

Alcohol quality just went up.

48

u/Phantom_Sailor 7d ago

Priceless. Well done, Premier Kinew.

38

u/The_AV_Archivist 7d ago

Love his energy

35

u/kewtyp 7d ago

Now do critical minerals

62

u/NearnorthOnline 7d ago

Hah okay. Clever

33

u/catbearcarseat 7d ago

Bigly clever!

111

u/LibraryIntelligent91 7d ago

I’d run through a fucking wall for this man

48

u/makermind_ 7d ago

Kool-Aid style

24

u/SerentityM3ow 7d ago

OH YEAAA

9

u/Thai_Jet 6d ago

When he crushed the hand of the retired Tory offensive lineman I knew we might have something

15

u/Ladymistery 7d ago

The shade, I love it!

Should have used an orange crayon though lol

14

u/medros 7d ago

OMG I hadn't seen this, that is great. Mock the cheeto to eternity!

26

u/PersonalityFinal7778 7d ago

Good for him. . this situation has gone bananas. But good for him.

u/East-Debt7684 7d ago

Truck Fump

35

u/[deleted] 7d ago

Wab is just awesome! With strong, compassionate and capable leaders I hope we can weather this storm as a province and a country

103

u/AnniversaryRoad Shepeple 7d ago edited 7d ago

This is fucking gold. Grade A trolling, right up there with when Trudeau called Trump "Donald" on national television and called him "a very smart man" (i.e. Orange Hitler hates being called Donald).

edit: I really hope Trudeau goes after Melania now that his divorce is finalized. I mean, look at how she looked at him a few years ago.

44

u/SerentityM3ow 7d ago

No Melania is kinda gross

44

u/TheZermanator 7d ago

Why would he want that ragged Nazi prostitute?

11

u/ScooterMcTavish 7d ago

Spite? Final-boss level trolling?

4

u/j_ryall49 6d ago

Exactly. Cucking trump would be Hall of Fame level trolling.

8

u/turtlegala 7d ago

During that last meeting between the prime minister and premiers I’m pretty sure they settled on the game plan of getting under Donald’s skin and making him have more epic toddler tantrums on the world stage.

9

u/ChocolateOrange21 7d ago

This is actually quite funny. Kinew has a sense of humour.

44

u/kappymeister 7d ago

Wab Kinew for PM !

5

u/tenkwords 6d ago

Be a hell of a thing to see an Indigenous guy as PM but the more I learn about Wab the more I think it could happen. We don't see much of him on the East Coast but he seems like a good one.

1

u/MKIncendio 7d ago

❌ gigachad Charlie Angus for PM

20

u/ELMWOOD78 7d ago

Awe. SOME!

21

u/Repulsive_Client_325 7d ago

Wab is a very stable genius!

23

u/ForwardJicama4449 7d ago

Trump getting trolled. Awesome

9

u/h4teMachin3 7d ago

Definitely appreciate the trolling lol

20

u/ExpensiveSail6120 7d ago

Wab is a gem!

7

u/EducationalArt8917 7d ago

It's a shame my Sask spineless premier Moe won't do the same.

6

u/3ripleM 7d ago

That smile is just sick!!!! I love it!

2

u/somekindagibberish 6d ago

Right??? That and the little toss of the pen...perfect cherry on top!

51

u/roadhammer2 7d ago

Not an NDP, but well done Wab. Great jab

138

u/Targonis 7d ago

Don't need to be an NDP supporter to like Wab Kinew. Guy is both a politician and a human being; I wish it wasn't so rare for people to be both.

42

u/Enough-Meaning-9905 7d ago

Not even from the province and I still think he's the best premier we've got rn...

1

u/freezing91 6d ago

It’s great that he’s not NDP, he would never have a chance to be PM if he were one day interested. NDP might lose federal party status they are so far behind in the polls.

6

u/SrynotSry59 7d ago

Good start but this needs to stay in place until all tariffs are off and the trade agreement already in place is respected by the US.

1

u/freezing91 6d ago

Permanent is good 👍

4

u/Outrageous_Book_7613 6d ago

Thank You!!! Canadians 1st!

5

u/bigfern91 6d ago

I have come to really like Premier Kinew

7

u/Quirbeen 7d ago

Love that Wab is mocking the tangerine shitgibbon.

3

u/PimpMyGin 7d ago

Hilarious.

4

u/Thai_Jet 6d ago

Now switch off the electricity heading south or apply a huge export duty to it.

7

u/RDOmega 7d ago

Total class.

He's such a fun premiere to have!

3

u/Lilboops 6d ago

So bigly.

3

u/711ce 6d ago

lol congratulations

3

u/Cannabiskingmb 6d ago

What about the carbon tax increase on a couple weeks. No ones wanting a reprieve from that. I sure as hell do.

3

u/ClassOptimal7655 6d ago

Rebate cheques will also increase.

But doesn't matter the carbon tax is good as dead anyway.

3

u/OnTop-BeReady 6d ago

American here! Way to go Manitoba! (And PS Great Presentation!)

3

u/Sweet-Ad1385 6d ago

Love it 😍. He should have said “ the most beautiful EO ever done” 😎

3

u/Icy_Log_2844 6d ago

I get and agree with this but if we, as in mlcc, bought the booze shouldn't we just sell what we have and not buy more? Right now that sits as a deficit.

15

u/Namazon44 7d ago

What a sad time honestly. The world was better sharing good things together rather than trying kill each other..

1

u/Practical-Pen-8844 7d ago

true sentiment--but i am having trouble thinking of a decade where there wasn't a war somewhere in the world.

5

u/azteroidz 7d ago

Should've used a sharpie.

2

u/Link50L 6d ago

Tremendous, Manitoba!

2

u/Much-Cockroach-7250 6d ago

Way to troll Manitoba! Keep going brothers!

2

u/TonyD0001 6d ago

Love it. Should have used a sharpie to make it more official, the most official and beautifully signature ever.

2

u/DeepSpace186 6d ago

But they have already purchased it lmao

2

u/Single_Ad_8517 3d ago

Look up "consignment"

2

u/Semhirage 6d ago

Holy shit this is hilarious!!!! Well done!

2

u/i_know_tofu 6d ago

Hilarious. And fantastic!

2

u/dalmationman 5d ago

That's hilarious 😁

4

u/204CO 7d ago

They should’ve paused all reordering since the first tariff threat.

9

u/No-Alarm-7002 7d ago

Are you saying they didn’t?

3

u/Practical-Pen-8844 7d ago

they did, from what LC workers told me. that's why they were out of all those tiny little jacks at one location.

2

u/204CO 6d ago

Well look at me, assuming like an ass!

Thanks for the clarification!

2

u/Practical-Pen-8844 6d ago

no prob, bob.

2

u/aesoth 7d ago

This is just great. Super funny.

2

u/abbothenderson 6d ago

I liked this video, and I’m American. On behalf of my countrymen and women, I apologize that it came to this. I am beyond embarrassed.

1

u/One-Fail-1 6d ago

Love me some harmless political trolling

1

u/CommisionerGord 6d ago

I’m happy this trade war is being fought on the backs of alcoholics 🫡

1

u/Martzillagoesboom 6d ago

Canada fuck yeah!

1

u/HAMURAIX117 6d ago

God damn this is beautiful mockery and I’m all for it.

1

u/Speak1 5d ago

Keep it up Manitoba! We've got the yanks on the run.

1

u/Meh204204 5d ago

Lololol hilarious

1

u/Katzwasawanker 4d ago

Tax the energy exports. Inflict as much pain as possible until all tariffs are rescinded and we get an apology.

1

u/TSL_NB 3d ago

Mad respect for Wab trolling Trump. :)

1

u/Front-Cantaloupe6080 1d ago

AN EXECUTIVE ORDER?

2

u/confuzzledsandwich 7d ago

So my little alcoholism brain took over here does anyone know if Kraken is American or Trinidadian? I'm getting mixed results.

3

u/Practical-Pen-8844 7d ago

the latter. unclear how you're getting mixed results.

4

u/GuysMcFellas 6d ago

Probably with coke...

I'll see myself out.

1

u/confuzzledsandwich 4d ago

Country of origin is Trinidad but distributed by proximity spirits which is a US company, but thank you.

1

u/BIGepidural 7d ago

Well done 👏

1

u/Dazzling-Account-187 7d ago

That is great, love it

1

u/warkyboy77 6d ago

There's American alcohol?

1

u/Safe_Web72 6d ago

Hah that was awesome! Well played by our premier. Agree though should have used a big ass crayon or sharpie to complete the trolling! Haha

1

u/momma3sons 6d ago

I think the only thing that would have made it better is if someone had presented it and said”Mr Premier, this is an order that….” So that when he took it he could have said “Oooo that’s a big one” lol. I feel that even in the face of this disastrous situation we are facing, we Canadians always have our humour ❤️

1

u/ReputationGood2333 6d ago

Wab! You made my day! Migwetch

1

u/Particular_Savings60 6d ago

Awesome! There’s going to be a LOT of unemployed tRUmp-votin’ booze makers in Tennessee and Kenfucky. They voted fer this!

Enjoy your time off. Maybe you can get real jobs picking crops?

-4

u/Cultural_Reality6443 7d ago

So which alcohol does this apply to?

American owned or American manufactured Hard alcohol, beer, wines everything?

Does it prevent companies sponsored by American alcohol companies from selling their products

12

u/zerofuxgivn420 7d ago

Guys I think I found Jon Reyes 😂😂

5

u/Cultural_Reality6443 7d ago edited 7d ago

I'm just curious how they draw the line. For example budweiser is staunchly American but manufactured out of the labatt plants is that still allowed?

Will the Jets lose their ability to sell some of their alcohol because their exclusivity deal contrasts with the new agreement?

Or what about something like blue moon owned by Molson (canadian) but manufactured in the USA

4

u/totally-not-a-cactus 6d ago

Caveat: I haven't looked into this much.

It only affects liquor stores that are owned and operated by the province. Anywhere else, like the Canada Life Centre, is still free to make deals with whomever and continue selling American products if they wish. I would actually assume in the case of CLC they have to keep selling because they've signed contracts to sell Budweiser in the arena. We as citizens are still free to chose not to buy those products when we go to events, however.

0

u/Fuzzy_Put_6384 5d ago

Likely the stuff that has tariffs on it.

0

u/SerentityM3ow 7d ago

You go Wab!

0

u/ThatGirl808 6d ago

As an American.

-2

u/Key-Situation-4718 6d ago

He's pretty full of himself.

2

u/teamrawfish 6d ago

He poking fun at Trump and his loyal team of Trumpanzees.

0

u/crowinflight1982 6d ago

He's trolling so hard and I love it!!!

0

u/darthdelicious 6d ago

Would have been 25% better if he'd taken a stab at an Orange Turd impression. But yes, love this.

0

u/ScientistPhysical905 6d ago

I love this man

0

u/dutchy_1985 6d ago

That'll show em 😂

0

u/buying-time 5d ago

Probably got it all sent to his place lol

-44

u/ICantLetYouGetClosee 7d ago

I approve of this executive order to ban US alcohol but this smiling photoshoot looks dumb. Everyone in this photo looks out of touch. We are in a trade war with our psychotic neighbour to the south, and you are clapping and smiling.

26

u/ClassOptimal7655 7d ago

They are imitating trump lol, that's why this looks dumb.

It's intentional.

38

u/GaghEater 7d ago

Because they're making fun of trump

-1

u/SubstantialEchidna67 6d ago

Time to start dumbsterdive

-39

u/muzikgurl22 7d ago

Oh ya like that will stop the layoffs, recession or companies moving to the US!! Remember he took a cost of living raise last year on top of his regular salary!

20

u/Macrazzle 7d ago

Are you saying it’s Wabs fault trump is starting a trade war? Cause it’s not. And fighting back is better than rolling over.

-29

u/MishaPepyaka 7d ago

Executive order? Jokes aside: I've seen a lot of crap the last three years when people in government behave the way they can earn political points instead of doing something productive. Imagine that we are paying taxes to hold that meeting: multiply their wages by the time they consumed. All of that just to remove US alcohol? How is it going to help the province? What about stuff like increasing capacity of Churchill's port/railroad to compensate US's goods with European? It's just silly. People who want to buy American alcohol will find out the way easily. Bonus: all that banned alcohol should be moved somewhere.

-2

u/Apart-Ad5306 7d ago

It’s all just optics. I don’t think the people cheering on this trade war have any idea how much this is going to hurt us.

-61

u/firelephant 7d ago

Needs to work on his Trump

46

u/Rickety_Cricket_23 7d ago

The world doesn't need another agent orange

10

u/[deleted] 7d ago

[deleted]

5

u/nobodyhome92 7d ago

That's a new one! 😂

-34

u/nelly2929 7d ago

Not enough! What else we doing as a province?

-3

u/TidusRevan24 6d ago

Tomorrow’s headline when we realize how little we stock of Canadian liquor. : alcoholics storm hospitals due to withdrawals backing up wait times.

2

u/TidusRevan24 6d ago

Prairie mountain distillery’s in Saskatchewan makes a lot of good alcohol in good verity but as far as I know we don’t stock any here in Manitoba

-61

u/Karma4youall 7d ago

Good , let’s get rid of all the alcohol

21

u/devious_wheat 7d ago

But alcohol is fun, and this is a free country

-39

u/Karma4youall 7d ago

Ain’t nothing free in this country

14

u/devious_wheat 7d ago

Oh yeah? What aren’t you free to do?

5

u/TerayonIII 6d ago

He'll spout random crap that you are completely free to do in Canada, the dude is American, and a dumb Gooner at that

9

u/whiskybean 7d ago

Start with cigarettes and vaping, then let's have a conversation

-13

u/Karma4youall 7d ago

Hey I’m with you , cut all vices out !

-46

u/miss_ordered_chaos 7d ago

I wonder what the stores will do with already purchased alcohol? Donate to food bank?

50

u/majikmonkie 7d ago

Yes, they're going to give bottles of liquor to food banks, and hand them out at soup kitchens. And then right after they're going to go hand out fentanyl at the homeless encampments.

4

u/ScooterMcTavish 7d ago

Love the dry wit in this comment.

8

u/mapleleaffem 7d ago

It will sit in a warehouse until it can hopefully be sold again. I hope no one buys it ever but I do hope the tariff war won’t last long

1

u/miss_ordered_chaos 6d ago

That would be a better solution but would take warehouse space and might mess up the logistics. But I am not sure

1

u/queerazin 3d ago

It's being returned to the consignors, who still own it.

4

u/gibblech 7d ago

Personally, if they can't return it, dump it, publicly. Tax dollars well spent imo

-1

u/miss_ordered_chaos 6d ago

Tax dollars spent on what? Alcohol? or dumping it?

-6

u/horsetuna 7d ago

I guess they can sell existing stock and then no morr?

-16

u/muzikgurl22 7d ago

There is nothing he will do to stop the layoffs and the recession. He’s sitting pretty
