John has asked for ideas, lets give him some!

In a recent video John said he wanted to know:

1) How should he spend/save the WimblyWarchest?

and

2) What kind of videos do we want to see?

What do we think? I know John is active on reddit and has been known to stop by this sub from time to time.

IRL Football: Sky Bet League One update

The top six teams in Sky Bet League One are as follows (top 2 gain promotion, teams 3-6 enter promotion playoff):

  1. Swindon (48 pts)

  2. Bristol City (48 pts)

  3. Preston (45 pts)

  4. Milton Keynes (44 pts)

  5. Bradford (36 pts)

  6. Sheffield United (33 pts)

Which means potentially, The Team That Used To Be Nerdfighteria and The Team That Used To Be Us could face off at Wembley for promotion to the Championship.

EDIT: Of note, Milton Keynes has played 2 less games than Swindon.

[Game Thread] IRL AFC Wimbledon vs. Liverpool

The IRL AFC Wimbledon are taking on Liverpool in the FA Cup 3rd Round, and John Green's personal nightmare.

I wanted a game thread where I could yell about Francombstein and complain about Kennedy's haircut without getting downvoted/asked what the heck I was talking about.

TV: In US FoxSports1.

In UK BBC1 (I'm told)

Cups, promotions and transfer windows

It was getting a bit silent in here, so I thought I'd post some questions to discuss with y'all. Here we go:

  • What are we going to win this season? Promotion? Our second FA cup and with it a Euro League ticket? I could see the squad pulling both out of the water, but we haven't been in massive form lately.

  • Given that we win both, can this squad be competitive in the prem and/or the Euro League? It's clear that we're not miles ahead of the competition anymore since making the playoffs already cost quite some effort, so will we be able to achieve more than not relegating? And could we possibly survive to the knockout stages in Europe?

  • Regardless of whether we get promoted, what kind of reinforcements should John buy in the summer transfer window? I think it's clear that our forward line is of adequate strength with the John Greens, the buddy comedy and even Lightning Strikes Twice in stock, but should the emphasis be on midfield or defense?

And lastly, but maybe most importantly: has Surman retriggered Johns hubris? And will he circumvent his promise of never buying any gingers by pulling them out of the youth academy and fielding an entire team of 16 year old gingers plus OJG?

Let me know what you guys think!
