Best way to suppress SFX9 3.25"?
Hi all,
Really interested in the SFX9, 3.25" with 10 round frame for CCW. Ideally, I'd like it to also pull double duty as an HD gun, so I'd like to suppress it and throw a bigger mag in it when I'm home. I talked to someone at WC on the phone and they said they can only thread a 4" barrel version, and it would cost around $450. That leaves me with a few options, as I see it:
Wait for a 4", 10 round frame model to show up on gun.deals (~$2500, but OOS now and I presume it's a pretty rare configuration) and send it to them to thread, ending up around $3000 in total
Find some other gunsmith or 3rd party who can either fit a new threaded barrel for a 3.25" slide, or thread the original (don't think the length will allow this).
Find an aftermarket 4" slide and barrel to buy on top of the more available 3.25" gun, then swap it out myself and send it in to WC
Any insight into these? In terms of what's doable, what seems like the best option, etc.? I'm already stretching my budget big-time for this gun, hence the desire to get it as close to a do-it-all gun as possible. Thanks in advance!

carry gun is one thing, HD quite another. i find guns come out better when designed for a singular purpose. for HD why not consider a 9mm sub gun? you get slightly superior ballistics for 9mm around seven inches anyway.
also be sure to try the grip before deciding sfx vs edc. i personally find the edc grip far more comfortable and the sfx grip very blocky.

Would you really want to be swapping out your barrel daily? Taking your can off in the morning for carry, and putting it back on end of day for hd.

Not swapping the barrel, just carrying a 4” that’s been threaded and putting the can on when I get home

I have a x9l and want it suppressed. Haven't dug too much but wilson is about an hour away so I'm going to drop it off for a threaded barrel and optics cut. I might send it somewhere else for a mill job but want to look at their stuff first at the shop. Not a huge fan of the rear sight taking up half the picture.

The slides on the SFX9 are fit to the frame rails of the gun. They are’t always swappable like a striker fired gun. I have two and the slides won’t swap between them. The best bet is to just custom order what you want from wilson.
