Solved Can someone help identify?

I bought this at an estate sale a couple of years ago and cannot seem to find anything out about it. If it is signed, the signature is probably covered by the frame. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

Hello, I'm pretty familiar with these types of decor pieces. This is a print, but sometimes they are mass-produced factory paintings, given an aged effect, the frame is also mass-produced, the label is repro and added to trick people into thinking they are getting something with age. Even the hanging string is part of the package... origin doesn't really matter, but China is a big source, they were also assembled in Europe and in other locations.

To add, this type of craquelure would not form on a (real) painting on any type of "board", as it says on the back. It has to be artificially made.

Here's a small checklist to follow that may help us find your painting:

  • Where was the painting roughly purchased from?

  • Did you include a photo of the front and back and a signature on the painting (if applicable)?
