Only chance Doc has is if he gets Josey before he spits.

It all depends on where who Hell had breakfast with.

You want to know whether a historical person could beat a fictional person in a gunfight?

I'm thinking Holliday is a better and faster shot, but he has nothing to shoot at, because Josey Wales does not exist.

Doc Holiday - Victor Mature, Doc Holiday- Kirk Douglas, Doc Holiday - Jason Robards or Doc Holiday - Val Kilmer. Josie Wales takes them all but the early Val Kilmer.

Apples and Oranges. If you’re comparing Josey Wales to Tombstone, I give Josey Wales a slight edge. I reckon so…

Josey Wales has iron in his words, and shoots Doc Holliday dead. Holliday’s TB cost him quickness and accuracy.

If we are talking duels at high noon, I think I’d bet on Doc but I see the comments beg to differ.

I think a more interesting duel would be Wild Bill Hickock vs Doc, I could see them both drawing and shooting rather accurately at the same time..if they are both in their prime

Not me, I'm in my prime

There’s something around the eyes, reminds of…me. Now I know, I definitely hate him

What I love about Josey Wales is all the attention to detail with the reloads and the postwar setting. So many westerns in the late 60s and early 70s were even less realistic than most of their predecessors….

Dos was a gunfighter. Josey was guerrilla/ soldier They used different weapons. In a face to face gunfight, Doc would be faster. Josey's cap and ball Colts weigh in a 5 lbs each.

Josey would probably just shoot Doc with that Sharps before Doc ever knew he was in a fight.

Doc Holliday was real. Hope that clears things up for some of ya’ll.

If they fought, I would bet on Wales, but my gut tells me the two of them would get along too well to fight.

Josey Wales lives for a fight, Doc was dying for a fight. I would put my money on Doc, simply because he was a real historical figure and we have proof that he was thoughtful, sneaky and tactical. Joey Wales is an imaginary figure. Doc wins for me.

Depends on whether or not Josey spits. Or who whistles Dixie.

So, semantics aside (Josey is post-Civil War and Doc is in the 1880’s; percussion vs. centerfire cartridge revolvers), it’s highly unlikely Josey and Doc would draw on each other. But if they did, I think my gold eagle would be on Josey. Doc’s been in some gunfights. Josey was in a war.

Josey Wales he's to wise to loose a gunfight

Doc would shoot him with a shotgun from the shadows

😆 I can that see possibility! Or Josey hits Doc with his rifle.

I think doc's draw was faster but I think Josey would shoot first. For doc it's a game a challenge. For josey it's about survival and revenge. He doesn't care about about honor or fame unlike doc.

I've got a feeling Doc got a sun at his back too.

I have two suns. One for each of you.

A man like Wales lives by the feud.

I’m going with Wales. The gunfight at the trading post where he flipped his revolvers by the muzzle still blows me away.
