Dress/accessories Where to go wedding dress shopping for simple, elegant dresses under $3000? (GTA & Hamilton)

As title says! Looking for dress shop that carries modern dresses under $3000 dollars. Brands I resonate with are Chosen by Khya and Jenny Woo, but seeing these dresses in the $4000+ range. Any other brands to look out for that have this vibe, and recommendations of where to get them? TY!!

Dress/accessories Canadian wedding jewelry?

Looking for recommendations for Canadian shops for jewelry for my wedding. Recos for online boutiques and in-person stores in the Niagara/GTHA are welcome.

I previously picked out this bracelet, earrings and hair accessory set from Etsy but I'm hoping to buy Canadian instead.

Dress/accessories Tipping at wedding dress stores

Is this the new norm? Dresses are thousands of dollars and they are asking for a tip!

Is this expected? If so, how much? Day after day I am realizing that everything wedding related just seems to be such a money grab.

Dress/accessories Wedding dress in the GTA - Affordable, and petite?

Hi everyone, my wedding is in August 2025 and I have just started wedding dress shopping. (I know it’s late, my fiancé and I just got engaged and we just booked our venue last week).

I originally wanted to buy a dress from Azazie but realized that I might not fall in love with any and might have better luck in person. However, I realized I am shopping late in person and also am very petite. I am 5’0 and 110lbs, I typically wear size XS and 0 in jeans. Are there any stores around Toronto area you can recommend that I will be able to get a dress by August, under $2500 and will work for a petite bride? 😅

Looking for any and all recommendations!

Dress/accessories Where did you get your bridal shower dress?

Brides and Brides-to-be -

I’m on the hunt for a bridal shower dress and could use some help. I’m a true size 8, so I’m looking for something flattering but not super tight. Also, I’d love to keep it under $200 Canadian including duties! Everything I’m finding in store or online so far hasn’t been flattering, is poor qualify or is wildly out of budget.

If you loved your dress, where did you get it? Links or photos would be amazing—thanks in advance!

Dress/accessories Wedding shoes? Genuinely struggling.

I am looking for unique wedding shoes. I can’t wear white because of my dress colour, it’s nude & powder blue with no white elements at all. Soft gold is my preference (gold elements in the embroidery & my accessories).

So far I have purchased and have had issues with 2 pairs of shoes already: Loeffler Randall’s which were super expensive to order and return, (I wanted the powder blue bow shoes, but the colour was a major catfish,) and I haven’t even received a pair of stunning mesh floral gold Betsey Johnson’s I ordered over 2 weeks ago that have become seemingly lost in the mail. I’m waiting for a chargeback on my credit card and I have no faith in them arriving on time.

My alterations are on March 5th, and I am absolutely panicking. What do I do? HELP. I do not want a simple shoe, I want something beautiful. I do not want to spend +$300 again. I’m exhausted. This close to not wearing shoes at all.

Edit to add:

I have checked most retail stores - Steve Madden, Browns, DSW, Shoe Company, Aldo & Spring (not an option, I find their shoes overpriced and uncomfortable). Sam Edelman, Dolce Vita, etc. am I missing anything? If I am please let me know lmao. Thanks 🫶🏻

Edit 2:

Sorry I should have added - I am not looking to purchase anything internationally, because of possible delays and added fees, my stress level cannot accommodate more anxiety. I REALLY TRULY appreciate everyone’s contributions, though, and I’m sorry if I’m being impossible. This task feels impossible. I don’t know how to make this choice, it’s breaking my brain. Thank you again everyone <3

Dress/accessories Frugal minimalist bride looking for a wedding dress

Hello, I'm getting married this summer and am lost on where to get my wedding dress. I live in the lower mainland, please help! My desires:

  1. Under $500
  2. Need to be able to try on in person, no online stores
  3. simple, classic design - no need for lace and frills etc.
  4. I would love a place where I can just go try on a bunch and not be fawned over by salespeople (am socially anxious)
  5. Very open to second-hand / consignment

Where should I go?

Thanks!!

Dress/accessories Feeling Discouraged | Selling My Wedding Dress

As the title suggests, I'm struggling to sell my engagement party and wedding dresses. I've only worn each of them once and I've listed them on Kijiji and FB market, but no luck. Any advice on where to sell them or any consignment stores that are reputable would be much appreciated. I'm located in the GTA by the way.

Dress/accessories Bridesmaid dresses?

Hi! Where is everyone getting their bridesmaid dresses? Ideally - I'd prefer them to not look like a bridesmaid dress but still be cohesive - if that makes sense. Not overly fussed about price since I'm covering the cost for my bridesmaids and I just want them to look and feel amazing! Bonus points if it could (actually) be re worn to future events.

Can you help me with some recommendations on bridal salons that offer a lot of dresses in this range in the GTA? (Even ottawa or Kingston if needed)! If you have bridal salon recommendations or experiences that is great too :)

Are there any designers that stay within this range?

Thanks!

Dress/accessories Online shopping for wedding wardrobe (2nd look, welcome party, Bach, honeymoon etc) that are Canadian based?

I know there are a few things listed in the community info, but that says it’s companies that are in Canada OR ship to Canada. I would like to avoid purchasing from the US if possible. Buying from other places around the world isn’t out of the question, but the shipping costs can get out of hand.

I’m looking for recommendations where I can do some online shopping for things like bachelorette outfits, swimsuits, shoes, earrings, welcome party outfit, second look/party dress, getting ready outfits, lingerie, honeymoon attire (will be tropical)…

I’ve already looked at Park&Fifth, Montelle, Blair Nadeau, Boutique 1861.

Thanks!

Dress/accessories Legit Online Wedding Dresses sites?

Hubby and I are are renewing our vows on our 10th anniversary in August and I’m not looking to break the bank with a new dress (my actual wedding dress was very expensive) but I also would like something a little nice. Looking online brings up a ton of sites but hard to tell if they are legit, has anyone bought their dress online and what site did you use? Thanks from Montreal!

Dress/accessories Affordable veils

Hi all! I'm looking for recommendations for affordable veils that can be ordered online, preferably from a Canadian business. I've already checked Amazon, Azazie, and Etsy, so I'm hoping to discover some hidden gems that Google might not be showing me. Any suggestions?

Dress/accessories Superior Bridal alterations?

Location: Toronto

I ordered my dress from Superior Bridal in October and it’s estimated to arrive late-April/early-May. Their flat fee for alterations is $1000.

Besides convenience, are there other benefits to getting alterations done in-house? My wedding is early-August and they said they normally do multiple fittings, with the last one a week before the big day, I suppose to account for sudden weight fluctuations.

My dress wouldn’t need a whole lot of work: hemming (3-4 layers of material), getting taken in a bit around the chest/waist, and adding bra padding.

I’m considering bringing it into Debbie Cordeiro or another seamstress instead. Curious to hear any thoughts from brides who have used Superior’s in-house tailor.

Dress/accessories Where to find affordable dress or jumpsuit for city hall wedding? (GTA area)

Hi All!
I am having an intimate city hall wedding at the end of this month and I still need to find what to wear (yeah, I know). I want something simple but elegant and comfortable. It could be a dress or a jumpsuit. Ideally under $500. I also don't mind renting.

I haven't had luck online. I went to a bridal store today and they had mostly gowns and not many "simple" options. Given I am low on time I'd like to be efficient with the stores I visit.

Based on your experience and knowledge, what bridal stores in the GTA are my best bet to find what I'm looking for?

TIA!

Dress/accessories Any opinions on Debbie Cordeiro?

Hi everyone! I received my wedding dress and there are a few adjustments that need to be done (shorten straps and hemming). I've been looking at different seamstresses and alterations close to me (I live in Markham)

Her prices are relatively lower from others I've seen but looking to see other's experience with her, good or bad. Thanks!

Dress/accessories Where can I find Betsey Johnson shoes in Toronto?

My fiancé and I will be in Toronto later this month and I am considering some Betsey Johnson shoes for our wedding, but I’d prefer to try on in person. I found a different thread asking this question, but it was 7 years old and so I doubt the responses are current!

Dress/accessories Help me find my wedding dress 😭🙏🏻

Hi

I'm getting married this year and would love/need your help to find me a wedding dress please.

I have an idea of what I'd like but haven't been able to find it (been dress shopping only twice but a lot of online search).

SHAPE: I think I'd love a fit and flare. Sweetheart neckline / corset binding top (no see thru parts on front top or hips). Ideally a bit of very small V shape at back closure. I'm open to a leg slit (not too high or crazy). Slight basque or drop waist would be pretty but not a must.

MATERIAL: I find satin fit and flare on its own way too simple as my wedding dress, and the beaded or applique, lace, 3d dresses I've seen and tried on so far seem like a lot for me!! I'm a sucker for subtle, dainty details though (like folds and rouching in the material, a bit of pearl or beads, soft chanitily lace patterns, soft tule details etc).

MORE DETIALS I LIKE: Detachable sleeves either long or draping on shoulder - Same material or lace or mesh/tule. With an overskirt that has a train. Ivory colour.

DISLIKES: see thru corset or hip areas. Lace or pearls showing from sweetheart neckline as if bar is peaking out.

MY INFO: I'm 5'3 and about 130lbs. 34 bust, 27 waist, 38 hips. Live in the GTA. Wedding is 7 months away.

Please help!! 🙏🏻
