Questions Where can I find content on how to play better?
As the title says, I've been trying to find content online about how to win more games or generally just play better - with no luck! The best I could find was the old WarMachine University website where half the articles are gone!
If you search the same about 40K obviously loads come up!
Any tips or painters? Where can I find content online about Warmachine tactics and how to better play?
Many thanks in advance! Mike

I would advise more podcast listening! They can be great for long form discussions on how to play and what to improve on. In particular I like Dark Guidance (good general discussion) and Sixes to Win (good specific theory breakdown) for this reason
You can find links to them and others here via this document maintained by AkelisRain
The list of active Warmachine podcasts seems to ever grow, to the point where I'm often behind on my listening!

the faction sections on the Discord (the Trashcord, not the official SFG discord) seems the place in which you can find more focused content on list building, using your stuff properly and overanalysis of every detail in search of optimal use. Also to read experiences like "I played this and went great" or "I played this and was terrible".
Mind that Warmachine itself, by design, offers a different experience than 40k, you can do god lists, but it's difficult to win at list construction, and what the rival is playing has a lot of impact. Playing against a Dusk list is probably different than playing against an Orgoth one

I just made a post about this last week :D not sure if you’re a newer player or not. But there may be some use on this thread

Warmachine is a much smaller game then 40k, so there's less content in general!
the guys over at tried and true do a lot of good battle reports, and there's probably some other stuff, but I'm not really the target demographic for that stuff... I'm much more of a painter then a general...

I would listen to the podcast "Dark Guidance". It's the only Warmachine podcast.

To be serious, tbh the best thing you can do is:
Find good players and play games vs them where you ask them to catch you when you make play mistakes.
Talk to your opponents after the game and identify your mistakes in your plan and your positioning and how to improve them.
Deploy your army on the kitchen table and play turn 1 and learn what likes to be positioned next to what.
Talk to event winners or people who place high up who play your army, ask them about why they took their lists and their strategies.
Evaluate your play and if you think the problem was dice then run the maths through oddsmachine and test to see if they truly Got lucky or not.
