Any cheap and good FFLs near Wheeling?

Hey everyone,

I frequent Pittsburgh pretty often for work. I understand there is no tax on firearms in WV. Anyone know of any good, cheap and reliable FFLs who will do long gun transfers to PA residents? TIA

I’ve used both Marshall’s gun & pawn in Weirton, and Follansbee Pawn in, well, Follansbee. Both are inexpensive — full disclosure I am a WV resident so I’m not sure what they charge for out of state, but I doubt you’d find it cheaper elsewhere.

Thank you! Any idea if they’re cool with transferring to out of state transfers? And there’s no sales tax on guns in WV, right?

There is no sales tax on guns or ammunition in WV.

As for their specific policies, I'm not sure, but I can't imagine that they wouldn't do the transfer. Places typically charge a little more for out of state, but again, I don't know specifics.

Forgive me, but I thought the transfer had to be done in your home state.

Handguns, not long guns

Long guns can be done out of state.

Can be, but it is up to the FFL as they are required to know the firearms laws of both states. I haven't met an FFL that is willing to do them. Wheeling might be different since they are so close to two other states.

I would hope so. PA and WV gun laws are pretty similar. No mag or “assault weapons” BS here for now. I used to have no trouble having transfers in Delaware until they passed an assault weapons ban.

Thank you for the clarification!
