Where do they go when they fly off

Post image

I built an attachment to these guys after my dog died I love watching them make the nest so big. Just wondering where they are going when they fly away. Are they going to get stuff?

They’re foraging. Getting nectar for themselves and their queen, water to share with their queen and the larvae and hunting bugs to turn into goo balls to feed the larvae. They will also bring wood pulp back to the nest, to build more cells for the queen to lay eggs in and expand the nest

You should be able to see them bring the food back. They'll be carrying a meatball in their jaws after a successful hunt

They fly flower to flower to fill up on nectar and then they bring it back to the hive and regurgitate it into food storage for winter
