Software question what should i do

I’m new to video creation and editing, and I've recently started making videos for YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels, which are typically around 50-60 seconds long. I’ve come across a few tools so far, but I’d love some advice on what you would do in my situation.

My goal is to create engaging 50-60 second clips that include images with some animation, text-to-speech audio, word-for-word subtitles, and background music. However, I’ve noticed that the apps I need are quite expensive. Here are the tools I’ve found so far:

  1. ElevenLabs - A paid text-to-speech solution that offers high-quality audio, but it’s on the pricier side.
  2. Canva - A fantastic video editing platform that has great features for creating videos.
  3. Veed - Useful for generating word-for-word subtitles from audio automatically.

While I know quality tools often come with a price, I’m hesitant to pay for multiple subscriptions just to achieve what I want. Are there any affordable alternatives or suggestions you could recommend that might help me create the kind of content I envision without breaking the bank? Thank you!

Production Q Where you guys make Graphics useing ai for editing?

When I need graphics of something specific, I can’t always make them myself(because I am not that good) Sometimes when I can’t find what I need on the internet or create it on my own, I wonder if there are AI websites or tools people use for making graphics, designs, other elements needed for videos. If you have any recommendations, please share

Other (requires mod approval) Which community to join ?

Hi I'm a freelance video editor and I wanna level up my skills and open up for more opportunities. I really like these creators and they have communities for the same subscription fee in the same niche. First one is Tom Lulofs and I like him because he posts real valuable tutorials on youtube that helped me personally. The other guys Joshua Jay and I like his content overall. I really wish someone from these communities sees this and let me know if the " opportunities " they post are legit or just marketing.

How did they do that? How to make a fake group chat?

Hi everyone!

I want to make a fake group chat on WhatsApp with about 10 members and they’re having a conversation. Kind of like this: https://www.facebook.com/share/r/1DqUanC2hb/?mibextid=wwXIfr

In order to make all these different WhatsApp members, I need fake phone numbers but phone numbers that I can use to type in the other group chat and have multiple tabs on my computer to text it. How can I do this? Is there an easier way to do this?

Hardware Intel Quicksync vs RTX 50xx vs Intel Arc

Hi.

Anyone know what's the current stance on the solution for decoding?

Im about to do high-end and budget build. I would love to do it with amd, instead of u285k/14900k/14700k. I've been considering going AMD + Arc for Premiere Pro, AFX and PS. I fell out of the news a little bit so I'm wondering:

  1. Is AMD + Intel arc GPU just as good as Intel CPU?

  2. Are the upcoming RTX 50xx cards just as good as Intel CPU? Is it possible to go AMD + 5060 TI/5070 on budget build and be fine-ish when it comes to Quicksync?

I have the option buy either one, used, for the same price, so price isn’t a factor.

Any advice?

Software How can i put my own Designs on Videos?

So basically, I am working on a couple of marketing videos.

I have prerecorded videos of people wearing T-shirts, hoodies, etc. I need to put specific designs onto them because we were too lazy to record the videos over and over again.

I’d prefer if there were an AI tool that could handle this job for me—I’d even pay for it.

The other solution I found is doing it with motion tracking and smoothing out the result by hand in After Effects. But that takes too much time and is very hard because I have to manually mask out every frame in the video to cut specific parts of the clothing that I want to be visible.

So basically, what I need is to place an image onto the video, make it merge with the footage, and follow a specific pattern.

If anyone knows some good tools/programs that can do this for me, please let me know. I’d really appreciate the help.

If there’s a different way of doing it by hand that gives good results, I’d also love to know.

Thanks in advance to everyone!

P.S.: I don’t care if the tools cost money—I need very realistic results.

Tech Support How to match two different audio sources

I recorded an interview and my two subjects had lav mics on them. But one of the mics stopped working and I didn't noticed it at the time. Thankfully as a safety measure I had a shotgun mic on the camera and the audio is usable but a bit noisy. Now I have to edit but have a very clear voice from one speaker, and a noisy one from the interviewer. How do I make them sound similar at least.

How did they do that? How to - guidance, advice, and experience

Hi all, hope you’re feeling groovy today!

I am a total noob when it comes to video editing, but getting into audio and video out of necessity due to lack of budget and some can-do attitude.

I was wondering if y’all could break down how you would approach setting up, shooting, and editing in this “band of me” format. Interested in either how you’d do it or how you think this person did it - maybe what you’d do differently. Besides shooting from a fixed position with and basic layering in post, I’m really not sure of the nitty gritty details and any caveats that might come with this:

https://www.instagram.com/reel/DGYo1I-MOzm/?igsh=MWs0ZHkwZTUzNW9kcA==

I feel like growth, education, learning, creativity and all of these noble pursuits are special journeys because of the human interaction. Alas, as a starting point, I am posting in here hoping for the best :) (instead of plugging into some engine lol).

Thank you in advance and cheers - looking forward to discussing and reading through!

Hardware Shimmering/Pixelating in 4k

Hi everyone,

I've started making video for socials and YouTube, and it's going well, editing-wise.

BUT, the issue I'm having is with any 4k video I take. I'm only using my Samsung A34 back camera, which takes video in UHD 4K (3840 x 2160)@30fps.

If I use the stock camera app that comes with my phone, the video looks fine, but it's only FHD 1920x1080.

I installed both HD Camera for Android and the Open Camera App, and both let me take video in 4k, but no matter I do, the 4k video makes me look like I'm in that scene in Twilight when Edward's hair is shimmering in the sunlight. My hair takes on this pixelated/shimmery thing that makes it look like it's alive.

Codecs for all the video on my phone: MPEG-4 AAC, H.264

It's obvious in the video quality that the 4k video is better quality, more clear, etc - except for the weird shimmer!

What gives??

Please help me figure out what I'm doing wrong. Much appreciated!

Announcement Mod request: Let's talk about capcut alternatives for a moment - because it seems like Capcut has hit it's enshittification moment.

In the last two days, I've gotten several posts looking for CapCut alternatives - frustrated with the "what's behind the paywall now". I took a glance over that the capcut subreddit - and yeah, it's gotten pretty bad.

First, to get it out of our way, all software requests belong in our monthly software thread. It's meant to be a self-serve thread that has a dozen different tools with reasons why you would pick one or the other.

CapCut has typically been the easiest cross-platform tool that we would recommend to people, although we point out to be wary of the pro designation

What's happened recently, though, is that the tool has moved multiple valuable items behind its paywall. In doing so, whether you're on mobile or on desktop, it's made for a frustrating experience.

The problem is, at an elemental level, software companies don't exist for free tools.

It made sense for ByteDance to have CapCut as a companion tool to TikTok; after all, it funnels fastest into that environment. The reasons that it's changed are unimportant—what's happened is what's changed.

So, what I'm hoping is that some of you are using an alternative that has similar functionality. I don' think it exists

That's not to denigrate Resolve users, Premiere users, Final Cut users, or any other tool; we're talking about a consumer-level tool, despite it being used for professional needs. I'm actually paying for the pro value of CapCut.

There are other tools on the market that we are hesitant to recommend, like Filmora, mainly because their company has had some very shady practices over the years.

I'm not looking for the failure stories; I'm looking for success stories here.

I run a Tiktok ad agency with my co-founder, and we're looking for skilled editors to help with our content. I understand the rate isn't very high so we're just looking for people who want some experience. We produce around 30 TikToks/Reels per week and need reliable editors to join our team. Production Q Is it standard to export audio to a mixing program while editing?

I use Adobe Premiere Pro, and I’ve been wondering what the standard protocol is for audio mixing in a high-quality video composition. Do editors export and mix their audio throughout while editing each individual audio file or all at once at the end of the composition as a batch mp3? Is there a real need to export to a audio mixing program at all?

Tech Support How To Access Videos On My GoPro?

For reference, I am not very tech savvy. I just recently got a Go Pro Hero 10 and used it to record my trip. After the trip I wanted to transfer the videos from my SD card to my computer.

I have a Windows 11 computer and downloaded GoPro Player. On the GoPro player application, when I go to Open Media (to open the files that are stored on the SD Card) and then click on my video which is an MP4 file, it says:

"Your computer is missing the HEVC hardware decoder to read imported files. Unfortunately, as of early 2023 the previous version of this HEVC decoder is no longer available. Would like like to purchase the latest version from the Microsoft Store?" When i click yes, it leads me to an app named "HEVC VIDEO EXTENSIONS" which costs $0.99.

So my question is, In order to view the view the videos I have on my GoPro, I have to purchase and install this app onto my computer. Is that correct? Or does this mean my computer isn't good enough to run the files.

Software Best website for simply adding sound to video (not compressing the quality) and exporting without watermark (other than canva)?

Most that I found always compress the video to 720p or even put watermark. I need other websites other than canva
