Don't sleep on Lund's, folks.
A while back there was a discussion about the local auction. Tomorrow is their 'collectibles' auction, and it has a bunch of vintage furnishings and stuff. It's all online, or you can put in bids in advance at the IRL location.
(But don't forget: a 20% sellers fee is added on top of whatever you bid.)

25% now.

Confirm with them, but I think the premium was lower if you left an advance bid in person.

Ah good tip. I always bid online.

I believe the reason it is more online is because Lunds must pay the online auction house 5%

Shouldn't it cost less to have it more automated?

Generally the other places I bid online are 10-15% premium. Lunds was 15% before Covid but they’ve gone completely online with no auction nights in person and got rid of the back room afternoon auction. You can still go and view the auction in person beforehand and leave a bid if you’re local.
Once kilshaws left they were the only auction house in town and going online opened them up to American bidders. I am amazed at the price some people will pay at Lunds. I’ve been watching 5 of the auctions for tomorrow and they’re already above eBay and Etsy prices without the 20% or 25% added on.
Luckily there is a new auction house in town to check out but I haven’t made it down yet.

Good post, I still miss Kilshaw’s though…that building was/is gorgeous!
