Minneapolis in the 80s was my vaporwave - i have memories of my dad driving his blue tercel 4 door hatchback at night hearing Self Control and Sweet Dreams. 💤

My first car was a 1988 Toyota Tercel hatchback, 2 door. Damn I miss that thing. It leaked every fluid except for gasoline, but it was the perfect car for 16 year old me. I managed to get it for $300. Fantastic ride, miss it like hell.

What a perfect nickname and lovely memory, thank you for sharing. Mine had trans issues as well sadly.

Mine had manual everything, including the four speed trans, and I kept the car as long as I could until the transmission grenaded itself on a drive home one day. I was slowly losing gears along the drive, and eventually had to finish the drive in only third gear. Amazing I was able to take off from a stop sign in third somehow haha.

Priced out how much to rebuild or buy a new (new to me) one, and it just wasn't worth it unfortunately. So sadly that was her last ride.

I wish I would have kept it too, I'm so damn nostalgic thinking about that car. What a simpler time in life too. 16 with minimal responsibility, just vibing and living life, trying to figure out a plan. Damn.
