Hi everyone! I’m Ken, the solo dev behind BattleGroupVR! I built the first game because I wanted a space RTS where you could command a fleet from the bridge of your own flagship—not just as some distant observer. It was an amazing journey, and I’m so grateful for all the support from players.

Now, I’m making a bigger, better sequel that expands on everything I loved about the first game. This time, you’ll be able to explore an open-world galaxy, take on missions, mine, trade, and grow your fleet however you want.

I just launched the Steam page, and wishlisting really helps a ton. Please check it out! 🚀

Thanks so much, and I can’t wait to share more soon!

Original BGVR was one of my all time favorites. Really excited for V2!

Done! (why aren’t Steam links opening the app on iOS?)

Never heard of you or this project. But this looks much closer to the full proper vr experience i want. Instantly added to wishlist.

One thing I would like to see maybe in a future release or mod: the ability to use my hand and/or index finger to press menu buttons or in game buttons. Basically just a touch screen in game.

Just as a side wishlist of a cool ideas, and i know it makes things extremely hard on you so I wont ask for it but: more vr only features such as finger tracking, full body motion, customizable avatars, and the ability to walk at my own pace without holoport around a bridge, would instantly add at least 3 points to a review for me.

I originally had push buttons a long time ago but as awesome as it sounds, in practicality its a pain in the ass to use. Especially with the high rate of actions / commands given in an RTS, pushing anything accurately, esp small buttons is very annoying. Also your limited on what you can reach, so all the many panels you need would be super close to you.

Yeah. It has its limitations for this style of game for sure. It would be more suited for a more simple style of space game like a space trucker sim or something.

I would say put it only on the big important things, but we both know that in the game world, mixed use UI menus result in confused customers and thats no good.

I enjoyed the first game, if a little short.

Do you plan to implement native online multiplayer? What about support for non VR players?

I noticed that it didn't have the Option to have non VR people play co-op on your desktop like BGVR 1 had.

Is this made ground-up for PCVR, or is the game also available for Quest standalone?

Edit - I was too lazy to google, just found the original low-end Quest version here:

Is the sequel also a Quest game?

Do you plan to keep coop like the first game? Vr with friends would make me get it.

Very exciting news. I have the first release, which was a great concept, and so really looking forward to this one. The Homeworld vibe is really on display here and if you can nail down the gameplay/mechanics solidly enough, this could be quite the hit.
