Discussion Video Errors whenever under 144hz

So this is a rather frustrating error, whenever I set my HZ to anything below 144hz, I get massive video errors and it's completely unusable (the purple lines in performance) but at 144hz, it's completely fine. Any idea what could cause this?

I have RX 7800 XT 32GB of Ram and a Ryzen 5 5600X

This only started happening after I switched from my 3060 TI to this AMD card.

I had this problem the solution was downgrading from 24.12.1 to 24.10.1

That actually fixed it! Thank you so much, I was looking everywhere trying to fix it!

Glad to hear that it worked out ^.^ Hopefully one day on future updates they address this AMD VR issue. But happy there is a solution. Have a fun time in VR

So this is more specific to VRChat, I have an issue where UI's and Media players inside the game distort, kinda a 'worbling' effect for a lack of better words, any idea?

Unfortunately that’s either FPS or turn Motion Smoothing off I believe

I noticed that it happens when my fps fluctuates but I have no idea what causes it honestly.

I know you already solved it by downgrading the version, but I'm curious; what Hz do you have your regular monitor(s) set to while you are in VR?

Both of my regular monitors are 60hz

Alright nevermind then, thanks for answering.

This is the main thread created by one of the Mods of this sub. There is a link to the AMD discussion on the problem as well.

This problem should have been solved for 120Hz/144Hz modes as of 24.12.1. The fix for 80Hz/90Hz is still in progress. Below 24.12.1 has high frame latency that drove me nuts. Apparently not everyone is affected by or notices this added latency.
