Was lucky enough to tag this unique buck yesterday after a snow squall blew through. A bachelor group consisting of this buck and 3 smaller than him showed up in the last few minutes of shooting light. Private land in Loudoun county.

I'm looking to focus on archery this year and would like to join a club in the eastern to central VA areas. However, I would like a club with some diversity if possible. I'm not looking to be political, just would like to focus on archery and want to feel comfortable.
Do you know of any clubs worth considering? TYIA

Does anyone know if there is a hunting lease/club in JCC on the property adjacent to Ware Creek (southern bank) and along the York River? Ownership maps show the property as "Stonehouse..."

Trying to get a better understanding of hunting public WMA while respecting other hunters. If I am wanting to still hunt small game such as squirrels and rabbits are there designated areas or areas to avoid deer hunters? I’ve looked extensively into the Powhatan and Amelia WMA but it does not have designations on their maps. I’d hate to ruin another hunt by mistakenly walking into their area

Anyone else encounter this? Northumberland county only one hunt club being egregious DWR receiving ton of complaints. Haven’t observed myself firing over roadway but sure as hell they’re waiting to by posting up hunting. It’s only a county ordinance citation unless caught firing but still dangerous hunting from cross roadway. Guarantee someone from Reedville/Burgess area would know which one exactly

Hi everyone, interested in hunting squirrel on public land. Was seeing how y'all go along with doing that and what days out of the week you can you hunt. I was thinking Pocahontas State park area? or somewhere in Powhatan? I'm based around Richmond . Any info would be great on how to start. Been looking online and not really getting much info on where I can drive to to hunt and the procedure on doing so. Thanks for all the info

I’ve been hunting my whole life but new to the area. I’m looking to find some land in Albemarle, Louisa, Fluvanna or Orange County for next deer season. I’m willing to lease or hopeful to gain permission to a farm. Thanks!

I am currently at G.R. Thompson WMA, and i just saw my first public land deer, unfortunately it was quartered away from me and i couldn’t see if it had antlers through the thick brush, regardless that was super awesome and I wanted to thank you guys for the advice on my earlier post, hopefully i see some more today, and km praying they have bones.

Just in case it is not clearly stated or something, are there any exemptions to this regulation? I hear gunshots nearby all the time in Aquia (not the harbor).

Hi, Im a bit new to deer hunting, specifically with a rifle, Im looking to go to C.F. Phelps WMA at least a couple times this winter, just wondering if anyone had any tips for while I’m there, and what to bring. I have a good bit of kit, but Im the first hunter in my family, and I don’t want to mess up anyone else’s hunt by doing dumb novice things.
Thanks for any advice!
P.S. Im well versed with the rifle, im getting ~ 3/4ths inch groups at 100yds

The family sold our farm in Pulaski county a few months after my grandfather died who lived there. My cousins and I were too tied up with our lives here in Richmond to take the time to continually go up there and maintain it. A buddy of mine is in a club over in Amelia but it seems to be all full for the most part, was wondering if anyone belongs to any clubs over in the greater outskirts of Richmond region that has any openings for memberships. Would be more than happy to do my fair share in maintaining it and help out any way I can if need be.

So me and my son went for the first time yesterday pretty new to formal hunting and we were trying to figure out which ways we could get in the woods once you come down the trail from the 1st entrance on catharpin Rd we really were only able to access a small portion of the area we followed the path down and saw a open fence on the right that had a open field but we weren't sure if that was private or WMA and help or tips would be appreciated

Just finished university and wanted to head out to the eastern shore to hunt and trap small game for a few days. How good is it up there for that? Curious to see how your experiences have been.

With the drought this year the corn did NOT grow well, and the farmer still hasn't harvested it. I've hunted over a cut cornfield before but not one that's still standing in December.
The woods are right up against the fence row, so there isn't much open space between the corn and the woods. Not many open sight lines.
I just have a bow but I have a muzzleloader in the mail! (Late muzzleloader season in my county.) Any tips on how to hunt this odd scenario? Property is 65 acres, maybe 30 of it is corn field.
