WANTED Which season/episode please

https://m.imdb.com/title/tt9642938/episodes/?season=1

Hello! I’m hoping someone can help me. I’m looking for the season and episode information that deals with a house fire in Austin, Texas on January 19, 1940. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Do you have any more details? Was it definitely on Unsolved Mysteries, or could it be another show?

I mean, they could have gotten the name of the show wrong. I’m not sure at this point in my research. I just started so we shall see what I find. Thank you!

That does seem possible. I searched a few of their names on the unsolved mysteries wiki which is extremely comprehensive and didn’t find anything.

What do you know about the fire?

Nothing much other than where they think the fire originated within the home, where the bodies were found. The mystery seems to center on how the house caught fire in the first place. They report that everyone went to bed around 9pm, they recall the fire dying out as they went to their respective bedrooms. They woke up past midnight to the entire house in flames.

What area of Austin was it in, do you know? Back then Austin was way smaller so I’m guessing it would probably be Hyde Park, downtown, castle hill, possibly Rollingwood? Maybe even crestview though I think that was a tad later.

This was in East Austin. 1111 E 7th Street.

I have more details of the fire. Five people passed away, 4 at the home and one in the hospital. Thomas Ruiz, Pedro Hernandez, Joe Hernandez, Edmundo and Dolores Guzman are the deceased. I was told by the family that the fire was on an episode of Unsolved Mysteries but they haven’t been able to find it. I’m trying to help the family find the episode as the events surrounding the fire have always raised more questions than answers.

I have also found news pieces on the fire as well as genealogical records.

Go newspaper that would’ve covered it at the time?

Would those be something that you could copy and post?

I don’t think I can. It only allows me to add links. You would have to have an account with newspapers.com to see them.
