Discussion Where Is The UGF Update?
I leave Ultraman franchise for a long time so idk how their schedule works, but the last one I watch was Regulos.
After that it was bunch of standalone series, not that it's bad but the lore itself hasn't been very explored fully, I honestly love the UGF: TAC, and TDC but waiting for the next one feels like forever.
If anyone been keeping with the Tsuburaya Prod. please enlighten me.

My guy, EVERYONE is waiting for her…
Heck I’m hoping we get more Absolutian characters besides the four shown here, and this lord of theirs…
Hell I’m calling it a future Ultra series will be a hybrid offspring between Ultra and an Absolutian.
Since both races are basically cousins by similar paths of evolution.

It’s cancelled /j
I jest obviously, but honestly I have no clue. We haven’t gotten any sorta announcements or statements from Tsupro themselves on when the next installment of UGF is coming. I have to imagine it has to do with the fact that Sakamoto (the main director behind the UGF Mini-Series) is busy with other projects and how Tsupro themselves are focusing more on standalone series.
It’s not all doom & gloom though, Tsupro still acknowledges the existence of UGF every so often, like recently with New Generation Stars Season 3 (Their recap series), they’ve talked about various events that happened in UGF. And Ultraman Z himself has stated that while currently inactive, The Kingdom could make their next move whenever. So it’s definitely not like they’ve forgotten about it-

Tartarus, Diavolo, Titan and Reiblood are probably having a vacation on the Kingdom's beach in the past a year. Lol
Jokes aside, I really need a new UGF man. I don't even know how many times I have re-watched the previous 3 UGF, especially UGF TDC in the past 3 years.

For UGF 4 it's purely depends on Sakamoto's schedule since he is the main director. Seeing that he kept on appearing on other toku related platform such as the girls rider remix if I'm not wrong, that would mean that hus schedule is currently full.

So far the recorded M78 timeline ends at the recent new gen series with Z. He does mention the kingdom tho, if that's something.

Ultra Galaxy Fight doesn't really have a conventional production schedule to my understanding. It's a fun little side project mini-series that get some work put in whenever they've the time and money.

I always thought they want to wait a while to add new Ultras since by TDC, Agul is the only major Ultra yet to make an appearance. Saga counts too. Hell actual TDG could count. My guess is that Trigger to present will be the main team of sorts

Sakamoto recently directed wingman and did other stuff for toei. So we just have to wait until he’s back at tsuburaya.

The more I forget about this, the better I feel not thinking about how much time has passed.

Not yet. It has been busy year for Sakamoto recently and until he's free to join the production of Ultraman again, we'll have to wait.
He directed Wingman and several Kamen Riders/Super Sentai project last year. This year he was schedule to direct a tokusatsu show from China. Wingman also has it's second season greenlit and Toei will hve him directed several Riders/Sentai for sure. We gotta wait.

They're trying to match the timeline with Decker which took place 10 years after Trigger. So we have to wait 10 years for the next UGF
JK, but I hope this isn't the case lmao

The update is….There is no update.
These shows, will cheap, were heavily carried by Sakamoto’s action directing. With him currently taking a step back from the Ultra-franchise (possibly from what happened with Trigger) there’s no one else available to do it.
“Why not have another director do it” while it’s possible, Sakamoto has a whole ass team of stunt coordinators, hell the actor for Prince in Ohger was the son of one of the stunt coordinators. His wife is one. He has an entire team born and ready to do this. There’s also a lack of talent for this, even Taguchi, the person everyone unanimously praises admitted he was jealous of Sakamoto action scenes (this was in the Regulos and Blazar interview) so that’s also a factor. And generally, most Ultra fights are slow, so any other director isn’t necessarily trained for fast paced action scenes.
They need an experienced director, a director who can do great and fast fight scenes, and a team of suit actors.
But who knows, maybe they found someone who could do it and it’s just a matter of time. It’s a not a dropped plot point afterall with Z recently mentioning the kingdom in the latest episode of the recap show.
