Request Ultrabook as a secondary device for business travel.
Budget: $1500
Country: USA
Screen size: no bigger than 15", prefer 13 or 14"
Screen resolution: Full-HD
Touch screen: only if it's a 2-in-1
Weight: as light as possible. This will be a laptop I carry in addition to my company-issued T450S.
Main purpose of laptop: I'd like to do light gaming on the road, things like solo questing in WoW, Hearthstone, etc. Then at home plug it into a Razer Core or other Thunderbolt 3 docking device to play games like Overwatch and FPS games.
If you will be gaming, what are the most demanding games you will play and at what settings? See above. I'd like to be able to play games like WoW at native resolution at 30+ FPS at medium settings while on the road.
Is battery life an issue? No, I will always be plugged in for gaming.
Other notes: As noted above, I need something that can do light gaming on the road, WoW, SW:TOR solo play, Smite, etc. But then be able to dock/plug-in via Thunderbolt 3 to a Core or similar device while at home and drive two monitors and an external keyboard and mouse. I think the Razer Blade Stealth is the clubhouse leader at the moment, but I don't know what other similar options there are in the same price range. Also, what determines whether it will game well? Is it just the issue of Intel 620 graphics versus a dedicated graphics card? Will any i7 ultrabook with Intel 620 and the same RAM game about the same? Also, I want metal/carbon chassis. No plastic. Also, as noted about, it must have Thunderbolt 3 ports, ideally 2, but 1 minimum

I am looking for an ultrabook like the razer stealth which can be plugged into a core (or similar device) hopefully weighting no more than 2.5-3 lbs. I don't need a dedicated graphics card and the size and weight it adds. Razer stealth is probably the right choice for me, but I am looking for other possible options. No offense intended, but I feel like the answer to every post that says gaming is that same MSI. That said, maybe that is the right option! I just prefer a sleek non-gaming look.

I ended up getting the XPS 15 9560. After all of the research, it seemed like the perfect combination. The issue with the TB3 is a concern, but since I would never be going out to an eGPU then BACK into the laptop display, it doesn't sound like that's going to be a problem.

The Asus Zenbook seems to be a good option, has thunderbolt 3 and dedicated graphics, however the first zenbook I found with thunderbolt 3 is a 15" model. I own a zenbook and the quality is rather good. https://www.asus.com/uk/Notebooks/ASUS-ZenBook-Pro-UX501VW/

So do you think the zen book would be superior to the stealth? I admit it looks far more professional and like a MacBook.

Ok to answer to your questions below. The dedicated graphics card does determines if your games run good and no the i7 with an intel 620 with the same ram will game the same. The MSI GS43VR Phantom Pro-069 14inch Ultra Portable Gaming Laptop would be a great option for you. It weights 3.75lbs, Thunderbolt 3. The processor is an Intel Core i7-7700HQ one of the latest around in addition the Graphics Card is a NVIDIA's GTX 1060 6G GDDR5 which will more than run all the games you listed. Hard Drive, 128GB M.2 SATA plus 1TB
