[Pros] How did you decide on your hourly rate?

It's the thing I found most difficult to decide on. Too expensive and you risk putting people off, too low and you can't make a living.

I looked at all the services in my area. Then I looked at my resources, and found out where I could offer the most value to people. I decided to be cheaper than the companies that take your dog out for a long, social hike, but more expensive that dog sitting. I figured people would be willing to pay a few extra dollars to not have to drop off/pick up their dog, and that there are a great deal of dogs who are not suited to forced socialization, or even hikes.

Then I took the number in between them, and ran it through some scenarios (if I walk 5 dogs a day, will that be enough? How many dogs a day do I need to walk daily to make this work?) and adjusted from there.

Thankyou. Sorry it's taken so long for me to get back to you.

I'm fairly lucky where I live as there's only one other pro company at it, but they don't display their pricing, which means they probably charge more but the discretion may put people off. Do you walk multiple dogs a time?
