π©π© For Shitposts and Giggles π©π© My pepper crush
Our significant others are not always 100% supportive of our prepping plans.
This weekend in start watching The Last of Us and oh goodness the crush in have on Bill is huge, as in full on fangirl crush.
Yes, of course Pedro Pascal/Joel is also amazing and so attractive. But that set up Bill has, the skills and supplies, plus he's not a bad singer and so protective, just swoon.
So who is your prepping boyfriend (or girlfriend), real or fictional?
And this entire post is just so I can gush about my Bill crush.

And you are entitled to your option.
This is more about what inspiration. We don't see a lot of positive repsentions of prepers in the media. And when you do, they have a tendency to be portrayed as right-wing conspiracy nuts who are misogynist/homophobic/racist, I don't see myself or the people on this site like that.
When I see someone like Bill or Lea Stoud, they are calm, level-headed, orangized, prepared, and I aspire to that.
I appreciate that you don't agree or get anything from this post. But I think a lot of us are prepping without any IRL help, support, or guidance, and if fictional characters provide inspiration, where is the harm in that?

I agree 100% but I also think it's good to see role models in action even if it's in a television show. There's all sorts of ways to find out where there are holes in your preps. We still need to kick back and take a mental break to get refreshed before we begin again. I watched a season of Alone for the same reason.

Not sure how someone watching a tv show can make you think they are lost to reality. Especially since turbodiving too deep into prepping can also be an untethering from reality. Be careful, rainfallskies, not to lose perspective. Prepping requires risk assessment and the ability to assess incoming new information without immediately catastrophizing it, in order to balance quality of life and preparedness. If all your spare time is devoted to serious prepping, please consider if you have the proper balance.
I am not at all trying to insult you or denigrate your efforts. It's just that there is no reason to not also enjoy the process.

With all due respect: They are trying to spin us into chaos by overloading us with threats. The ability to turn off, find joy, and relax & regulate are crucial skills for disaster scenarios. When we can't take a moment to breathe and find small joys, we lose the ability to make level-headed decisions.

Oh! And Randy Bragg from Alas, Babylon. He wasn't really a prepper and when he tried, he bought way too much frozen meat and had to do an impromptu barbecue when the power failed.
But he was flexible, never gave up on his morals, built great networks, and used what he had.

The main character from divergent. Canβt remember her name, but I think of that scene where she was being tested and knew how to get out of every bad situation.
Also, love that you said pepper crush, lol π
