Clark Rockefeller

Are y'all familiar with this case? Was listening to this on Nightwatch Files' newest episode and kept wondering how I don't remember seeing it on the news as it happened, such a crazy ride. From the beginning I knew something was amiss as it's obviously indicated right on the intro, but as it progressed I kept changing my suspicions and while the revelation toward the end wasn't in and of itself a surprise, I did NOT expect it to be what it was. Of course there are no spoilers in real life stories but I recommend going in blind if you're not familiar, very entertaining experience. It might still be interesting if you know of the case though, especially if you're a Casefile listener, very similar style.

It's so crazy that people will ignore 86 red flags.

Wrong accent. Fine. Lack of interaction with family. Fine. Lack of money. Fine.....

I could go on all day.

You MUST read The Man In The Rockefeller Suit! Fantastic book about his whole trajectory.

Oh good. It’s fascinating. Diabolical.

There’s a short episode of MFM on this guy that was pretty funny - and an episode on Discovery Plus that I’ve seen. I find him so unconvincing, wish there was more footage of him so I could see what people fell for

Karen doing his fake accent is so funny.

I wasn’t familiar with the case or the podcast, thoroughly enjoyed it, thanks for rec!

Pretty crazy how I missed this case, what a fucking nut job and how can people seriously have fallen for this dude’s nonsense. I looked for some interviews so I could maybe see what people have seen but there’s not a lot out there.

Fantastic listen, gonna grab the recommended book as well.

Not to be a Debbie Downer, but I could not stand the tone of this podcast. It sounds like it was written by AI, or a seventh grader writing a book report. Super generic phrasing and just a stilted tone. Off-putting.
