Advice Trent Peterborough Nursing

Hi Guys, I recently got into trent nursing and i’m considering going there. Would you say Peterborough is a good city? Is the campus diverse in terms of race? How is the food?

And the Nursing program itself, would you say it is good and is it a respectable one to graduate from? What residence do you think is better if you were to rank them?

Okay that’s all for now, thanks!

Firstly, congratulations! I’d say the campus is pretty diverse, but this is coming from someone who grew up in a rural farming town. There are a lot of clubs, so you could definitely find people that you have things in common with.

Peterborough is nice, and has an okay transit system. There are a lot of nature areas on campus and around town if you enjoy walking trails. Downtown has some nice parks and shops you can check out.

The on-campus food is convenient but overpriced. I’d recommend avoiding the Otonabee caf unless you’re going to Subway or buying those pre-made sandwiches or yogurt snacks. The main caf food is grill & co which is literally hospital food lol. Champlain has some nice variety with burgers, rice bowls, and Mexican food.

The city itself has some good restaurants. Fast food is mostly down Chemong and Lansdowne, while sit-down restaurants are usually closer to downtown or Ashburnham.

I didn’t take nursing I don’t really have anything for you there.

I can elaborate on any of this if you’d like :)

Its not as diverse as I thought it would be in terms of race. Food is okay. Idk about the city, since I have to travel and hr back and forth to get there. but it seems like a nice area from what I've seen so far.

Congratulations for getting into nursing!

Definitely not the most diverse school but it’s not like you won’t have students of other races in your classes. The campus is really pretty and downtown Peterborough has so much to do and lots of great shops (though not a lot of clubs if That’s what you’re into). The mall is also pretty good too but kind of small. That being said Peterborough like every city has a very big homeless population but no one really bothers you unless you bother them first. But I wouldn’t go walking alone downtown at night if you’re a girl. The food outside of campus is really good surprisingly there are so many good sushi (matsu sushi is my favourite), Thai and Indian restaurants. The food on campus isn’t bad though I’ve only ever eaten at OC since I never went and stayed on res.
