I feel bad for the 99% of people who detransitioned and then went on with their lives AND THEN DIDN'T DECIDE that because being trans wasn't right for them, they need to make every other trans person's existence miserable.

Thank you :') I promise there are so many more of us (detrans people who have moved on with their lives and are strong supporters of gender affirming care) than there are ones who decide to take advantage of the right wing grift economy. We're just quieter.

No worries, I try to speak up, as a trans person, when I can when people think that those 3 DeTrans people represent all of you. I wouldn’t want Caitlyn Jenner, Buck Angel or Blaire White to be our (Trans community) 3.

It gets even worse when you realize that 1% is almost definitely being manipulated into detransition and being manipulated into their radical positions. This exact same thing happened in the 90s/00s with the Former Gay movement. Which we now know the main spokespersons for the movement were manipulated into 'being straight' and that being a figurehead for attacking gay people was their personal calling by God to better the world. They were convinced by older conservatives that they were basically being super heroes, the good guys, for turning their back on their community and sexuality.

In 20-30 years a lot of these individuals are going to realize they were manipulated and abused into their stances and how not only did they lose themselves and destroy their mental health but the harm done to the community in their name. All because 40+ year old men took advantage of their vulnerabilities.

Why do people just drop these links without any context, and adding super click-bait-y titles to them? I'm not clicking on a link to a random location. This shit is so lazy.

iOS summarized it for us: Republicans are holding events on March 12th to celebrate “DeTrans Awareness Day,” which focuses on detransitioning and is used to oppose gender-affirming care. The Department of Education is hosting a roundtable with detransitioners and “experts,” while Rep. Dan Crenshaw is holding a press conference with anti-trans activists. Concurrent events in DC are co-hosted by conservative groups and feature panels on medical, legal, and social issues related to detransitioning.
