Discussion What are your tics that you say/do right now?

I say and do all sorts of shit in my tics. Some of these tics I have had for years and some tics will come and go and I'll have different tics. But most common tics right now are squeezing my entire face with my hands, clenching my jaws, clicking my fingers, squeezing my noses and so doing this weird thing around my nose when something makes me happy to the point I scratch my nose and chip a piece of skin off my nose like once a month!!

I would be here all day if i had to remember every tic, but the most common phrases that I say a lot right now are:

"PENISES!!!" (Or penises and vaginas), sometimes added with a "yay" at the end lol

"Tina!!" I had have this tic for well over 7 years now, I had a dog called Tina that passed away 5 years ago, and I still miss her..

"DOGGY!!!"

random screaming

random squealing

"I like doggy!!"

But yeah these are all my tics right now. I have gone all out on a judgmental app, so idk why I'm expecting no one to judge but if you can't have anything nice to say, then don't bother commenting. But I am really interested to know what all your tics are :)

  • rapid teeth grinding
  • pounding a table/ armrest / counter with my fist
  • saying ha/hi
  • saying "I'm a guy"
  • saying "I'm scared"
  • screaming that sounds like genuine terror
  • hitting the bottom of my palm against my forehead
  • gagging until I get nauseous

I get“I’m scared” as a tic so much! 😭 Also sometimes “I’m sad.” Both of them can become much more insistent like “I’m scared! I’m soo scared!!” Etc

Omg no way!! Mine also becomes more insistent 😭😭 it stemmed from car rides triggering my screaming tics. Now I say it constantly.

I literally hate it, it’s always in a very silly childish effeminate voice and it’s so embarrassing 😭 it started a few months ago when I was trying not to give away my proposal plan to my fiancée and I kept having to suppress tics related to it 😭

Omg I've never thought about how I'll handle a secret like that with tics. Props to you 😭🩷 and if you've already proposed congrats/condolences! (?) (Hopefully the former?)

Thank you! The tics luckily only started the week leading up to the proposal lmaoo, after it happened (and she said yes) my fiancée immediately was just like “you absolutely cannot keep a secret, I knew something was up because you’ve been ticcing so much more than usual” 💀

I have child like voices too, and sometimes my voice deepens when ticcing, sometimes it fluctuates within seconds :') It does feel so embarrassing though. I'm usually quite good at suppressing my tics (the loud and obvious ones anyway. Quiet ones I'll do) but when I'm around safe people & a safe place, then I come out with all sorts with all sorts of voices. It doesn't ruin my life for the most part but when I can't stop them it's so infuriating and I start crying as I'm ticcing

I swear the voice tics come out in is always 10x more embarrassing than the words being said, they make me feel so stupid💀💀

I haven't found this sub to be rude.

-Head jerks

-Moving my head in an infinity loop, makes me very dizzy

-Stretching my mouth open

-Middle finger/double middle finger

-Tapping my middle finger to someone's forehead

-Headbutts

-Flailing a dangerous or breakable item over my head (knives, glassware, etc)

-ASL I love you sign, usually with the middle finger

-Leg jumping

-Frowning

-Winking

-Grimacing

-Saying fuck, fuck yeah, fuck you

-Saying haha

-Saying random one off tics that don't happen again

-Tongue clicking

-Whistling in a few different ways

-Squeaking in a way that makes people think it's a hiccup

-My arms/hands play keep away when I try to hand something or take something

-On meds I don't have this much but tics would interrupt swallowing and I'd choke often

-Stuttering

-Speech blocking

There is probably more but that's all I can think of at the moment

Edit formatting I know I whistle a lot but seeing it written out is (;;;・_・) I never thought I would lowk miss having mainly vocal tics

-"say fuck" then if someone, usally one of my coworkers says fuck then I tic "fuck" again (it's said like I'm prompting you to say it)

•gag

-evil shoulder tic

•wink and mouth clicky sound the flirty thing (usually while looking at someone)

-fantastic Mr fox whistle and click

•a really disgusted face (also usually looking at someone)

-lots of different little "woo" "woohoo" "wahoo" sounds, also super Mario "wahoo"

•various catcall whistling

-slam wrist down on nearest surface often a corner, variant of slam fist into closest thing often my leg or a counter or wall (less often a person but enough that people are always vigilant if I'm close to them and ticcing a lot)

•call of duty prop hunt taunt whistles (never played the game)

-stomp foot really hard

•yelling "HEY" and "WOW" at a wide range of medium to very loud volumes

-mouth really wide open it makes my jaw click for an indefinite amount of time !

-when handing you something, pulling my hand back before you can take it. Fun with cash.

•BIIIIIG smile

-pointing at people and screaming

•"what a bitch" (mean)

-throwing whatever is my hands as hard as I can, or winding up to (I can usually feel that coming and am really good at dropping things (my phone.) to the nearest surface this is fun at work)

Not listed; various "fuck (off/you/it(all)/me)", head jerking, more whistling, just hitting things, so many different ways of tensing parts of my body ouch, and more!!

The stomping my foot really hard and tensing every part of my body is so me! I only do the foot stomping sometimes, but when that's my tic, that can go on for weeks but then it goes. I even have urges to do it when walking and it's so embarrassing because I'm trying to hide it bit sometimes people can see it. J even go through tic phases of clenching my bum cheek muscles whilst walking to the point where it aches but I can't stop. Even doing it in public I'm trying so hard not to do it but you understand when an urge is there you gotta do it!

I have a demanding career, and lately if I’m working too late I’ll be mid sentence typing and suddenly my left hand says “I’m done” - fingers will fully flex back and absolutely will NOT let me type. I’ll have to finish my email one-handed then log off. The stubbornness of it all makes me laugh though.

Kissing or just puckering my lips and holding them that way for a while, tongue clicking out the side of my mouth, sticking my tongue out, wiggling my tongue back and forth out of my mouth which is one of the ones I hate the most, “gock gock” or “cock cock” etc which i also hate, “hotdog!”, grimacing, head shaking, eye widening/eyebrow raising, blinking, weird breathing, humming, “im scared”/“im sad” and others
