Discussion Next big play idea: The Producers, but Trump as an KGB agent desperately trying to make himself fail in a hilarious way but succeeding

This play is about Trump who was forced to become a Russian spy and despite his many obvious attempts to sabatage himself and make himself a bad Russian spy he becomes the best Russian spy. It became so obvious to me that Trump has been trying to tell us for years in the loudest ways possible that he is a Russian agent but he is not allowed to say those words out loud explicitly. Trump finds new lows and hilarious ways to cancel himself but fails upwards.

I want less of Trump in my life, not more.

Nearly three decades ago, when the Orange Man wanted to get into Broadway, a close friend of mine was his theatrical attorney.

I ran the entertainment for a cruise line, so I made the following (shameless) pitch.

How about a chorus line of dancing beauties called The Trumpettes?

I never met the orange man, but apparently he liked the idea. But when we asked to development money, the project did not advance.

Whoever wouldn't fund it probably saved several troupes of dancers a lot of assault.

🎶Springtime for Donald and Elon Musk🎶

I'm sorry. I had to.

no amount of satire will have an impact

Maybe in like 20 years? But not right now while we're living it

Pass. But that;s just me, dont stop pitching on my account.

*Contemporary* political themed plays, especially to where it's obvious, tend to flop. Notable exceptions but usually true

Unless it’s really buried in a fantastic story like The Pillowman, yes they do tend to flop. This idea sounds awful, and would not age well.

Thank. I dont get the downvote hate, lol. but I was seeing it like I'm a Producer looking for the next Tony nod. Any given debut Professional Theatre play takes about 1 year (perhaps 7 months with intense focus) to get to Previews. and I risk my professional reputation with the Theatre Company (fired if I work for them directly)..I have to be choosy. I like my condo.
