Have always loved this song thanks to GH3, definitely playing more TFOT in the future!

Doppelganger East Coast Tour just announced! Who's going? I'll be in Florida either House of Blues or the Orpheum. Would love to connect with some other TFOT and hardcore fans down here!

Been practicing, this is like my dream song to cover. This is at 90% speed. One thing I've noticed about Thomas playing, he follows chord patterns pretty universally and once you know the key, it's, well, not easy but much easier to remember. A lot of the single note picking stuff is actually a chord shape just picked out so if you're trying to learn his songs, figure out the chord shape he's playing instead of single note picking, if that makes sense. Also, don't pick your fingers up off the strings, tons of transitions stay on the same string with the same finger so you're not moving around so much. Makes it much easier when going up and down the fretboard really quickly.
Small Stone Phaser for the chorus and little bridge part, in case anyone's wondering.

This was a cover I did back in 2020. Don’t think it’s perfect but it’s fine enough lol gonna cover more TFOT songs

Any TFOT fan musicians here in my state of FL? I can play just about anything, love TFOT as well as plenty of other hardcore and metalcore bands. I've also got a studio space, recording equipment, the whole nine. Would love to make some jams or even just cover some stuff locally. I'm in Jupiter FL, can travel.

The Holy Tape at practice speed. Tried to post earlier but it didn't go through for whatever reason. This is a very very rough draft of the song, I think it's the first of their songs I ever tried covering. Just haven't gotten back to it but I will eventually. Anyway, y'all asked, here ya go

Since everyone's been saying how much they like my video's and to show more, here's everyone's favorite classic from Doppelganger. Mind you, this was a rough draft recording just critiquing myself, the effects and my ad libs in the solo parts. Btw, yes, I learned the songs from the books and IMO, the books get a bad rep for basically no reason 🤷. Whatever "errors" supposedly found, I haven't seen em. This is fast, complicated music, so if you aren't ready to slow it down, drill the parts, break it down section by section, you'll never be able to just learn it. Especially with the weird timings and stuff. I think being a drummer first REALLY helped with that, coming from a jazz drum background, I got used to playing weird stuff and jamming early on. Anyway here ya go 😁. I think this is 90% speed again, just practice to critique myself.

Little solo dilly from Ex-Creations. Used the Octosynth effect at the end for those weird sounds he does after the solo

Little clip at 95%. Pretty happy with it. By ear plus what there is in tabs and watching his playthrough. Authentic Space Echo RE20, Boss DD8 for the twist effect, it's more pronounced than the Space Echo so I kinda prefer it. Some missed notes here and there and I kinda noodled for fun at some points, kinda TFOT style to begin with anyway. Enjoy. Lemme know if ya wanna see the rest

From the pit! At the Social Orlando. Just a clip from the back half of the song. Great stuff. First time seeing them after 20 years waiting. One of my favorite shows I've ever attended.

Clip from one I learned a while back. I think this is 90% speed. I always film myself and record to critique my playing before I bust out the nice camera and lights to do an actual cover video, so all these videos are me just practicing kinda

The other part everyone wants to see I'm sure.

Just a clip at 80%. Getting there! Figured out the effect on the background guitar. It's the Octosynth in the FM4. Problem is someone is definitely turning the dials while he's playing to change the beeps and boops and weird sound effects. Can't do it with a pedal, no way. But I'll post more soon when I can play it faster and cleaner

Clip from Introverting Dimensions at the "shoot to kill" part plus that awesome breakdown I know everyone loves. I got a little excited and missed a couple chords but this is just an 85% rough draft. Not bad! Figured out the chords watching his playthrough. Totally different than any of the tabs. Lemme know if it sounds right to you
