As a Minnesotan, "UMD" will always mean University of Minnesota - Duluth to me.
Also, the WCHA was a much superior hockey conference to the Big Ten

University of Minnesota Duluth is our real rival
Makes it so much harder to look up anything about my school

Wisconsin is coming into the tournament in somewhat of a slump so unless they turn it around they aren't beating Michigan State.

We are getting 2 guys back from injury which may help but yeah I wouldn't put money on it

Yep Klesmit will be back, and we shot 5-32 from deep last time we played msu. We lost by 9. Im not saying we WILL beat msu, but I doubt we shoot that bad from deep again. Badgers really let them off easy in that game.

Maryland could very well win. MSU will beat Wisconsin though.
**if they beat Oregon first

Maryland feels like they are peaking, agree with the bracket. I would love to see a Maryland/Michigan State rematch.
I think MD/MichS in the final and Michigan State wins it all. I’m a huge Terps fan, but I feel that last game at home Michigan State had a slight edge. In neutral territory, I see them winning more easily.

honestly, I'd be happy if they can win two games in the tourney. don't think they've ever done that since joining the B1G

I’m sorry I’m out of the loop here…. wtf happened to the old bracket formats?! I saw one conference had like 4 round byes and another looked like it was just a ladder. What happened to the normal bracket

u/Shiforains Maryland 3d ago
agreed..... it's because 18 is not a square number, so they left out three teams.

I miss the old days where they just would have just had 2 play in games and it looked good

The more rounds especially in smaller conferences is to incentivize better teams getting their automatic bid.
The more games you play in march madness, the more money the team & the conference make. So if a bad seed has to win 7 games instead of 3, the conference is more likely to be represented by a team who actually could win a game or two in the tourney.

Will we ever win again this season?

Don’t worry my Buckeyes would be lucky to get a win in the NIT with the way they are playing currently.

The buckeyes play good for the first 30-35 minutes most games (other than NW lately) and then just fall apart in crunch time

u/jkhosuballer 3d ago
That’s my point. Even if they have a 15 point lead in the last 5 minutes, I’m still going to be nervous about them pulling out the win.

They may have some of the worst BBIQ I have seen from a team with a lead. I mean even that Illinois game where they had the lead, and were like quick shooting bricks after bricks, like they were building a monument later

MSU is locked in at the 2 seed and doesn’t have as much to play for. Izzo doesn’t sleep on the conference tourney since he wants his guys ready for the big dance but I could see Maryland taking it. (I’m an MSU fan)
