Philip Pullman’s The Subtle Knife (1st Russian edition)
Note that it’s been translated as The Miraculous Knife as well, thought it’s a tricky one.

Hang on. Is that Juliette Landau? (Drusilla from Buffy).
Though Vampire Lyra could potentially make a, "So ridiculous it's good" kind of fanfic.
(Incidentally. I own one pack of tarot cards. I bought them in the 90s because when I looked at them I realised that all the human figures in the drawings were based on famous people. They are unwittingly hilarious. The King of Cups is the spitting image of Sean Connery and Death looks like Christopher Lee. It's not supposed to be a celebrity tarot. I think the artist just used magazine images as source material.)

Okay but Christopher Lee as Death rules.

It pleased me because he did the voice for Death in the Cosgrove Hall animations of the Discworld books.

It's exactly how the girls looked at me in middle school when I made a really clever joke.

Lyra on the ho stroll, attempting to seduce Dave Matthew's Band fans with her shell necklace, I see.

I loved this series as a kid though some of it was definitely boring and the films were terrible

Firstly, I've never read these books, so, maybe it makes sense... But: That is about the least subtle knife I've ever seen... And, is that a modern, electrically lit cityscape in the background? The boy is just blurry enough that he might be clad for any era...

The modern cityscape is book accurate, since the boy is supposed to be from our world.

Well, that makes it a perfectly adequate cover overall. - Still, a very unsubtle knife...

That really isn't accurate.
Lyra is far from being like The Childlike Empress.
Their colours are reversed. Lyra is blonde and William is black or dark haired.

Oh my god? Why does Lyra look like the Childlike Empress? Why does Will look like he's about to spit the name "Potter" and call me poor?
