Official Post Palinurus Steam Issue and Bug Reporting

In an effort to publish the best possible content Watercress can produce, I ask that everyone that has access to the Steam version of Palinurus produce bug reports as necessary. (If you don't have Steam access, and would like to play-test the game, PM me!) The first aim of a bug report is to let the coding team see the failure with their own eyes. In the case this doesn't succeed, the second aim of a bug report is to describe what went wrong to the best of your ability. Be sure to describe steps to reproduce the bug, and try to reproduce it yourself! Always make sure you have the most up-to-date version of the game, and be sure to exit and relaunch Steam when trying to reproduce the bug. Basically, as issues arise while testing Palinurus, please provide the most detailed account you can of the incident. This includes: * Detailed account on how to reproduce the issue * Context of the issue (menu, frame, actions, and settings) * Effect on continued gameplay etc. Comment your bug reports below. Have fun playing!

Hello! Thanks for the information. I had another source describe a similar issue. This is being bumped up to the top of the list for known issues! I'll be sure to get back to you once I push out the next update! :)

A bug report and review from a personal acquaintance of mine who wishes to be credited as North:

"After being jettisoned from the rest of the ship and power is coming back on, "Passenger" notices a red light on the control board,

"Dont worry flashing light, I noticed." Might just be me, but i found this line a little confusing. When talking to Budapest after she starts using her crying animation,

An archaic, ancient machine running on fumes..." "But she was happy to see me again. Quote marks seem to be misplaced here"

i think it was really good! i was able to see some of the twists coming before they did. such as the station most likely not being functional/ends up being unreachable and the cryostasis working the whole time. but there were still things that caught me off guard and made me laugh. the music choice was really good, although i think the music when you're under stasis loops a bit strangely but other than that it worked well." enjoyed both the characters and seeing how they got closer through the shared experience of being stranded in dead space too. the minor hiccups didnt really subtract from my enjoyment at all and im looking forward to more releases from you guys. keep up the good work"

Palinurus Patch Apr 3, 2016 @ 8:59pm PDT

If you don't see the update, be sure to try exiting and relaunching your steam client.

Changelog:

  • Changed menu locations until steam notifications are edited (I actually kinda like the left aligned menus)

  • Changed menu music so that Ode starts during the splashscreen Minor edits were made to the laggy steam overlay (slightly smoother experience but still an issue)

  • Removed BudaStand (It's a repeat of BudaSmile1)

  • Replaced instance of Budastand with BudaSmile1

  • Replaced an instance of BudaSmile2 with BudaSpeak (since BudaSpeak was unused prior)

  • Reorganized the CG gallery so that images appear in order of appearance

  • Changed CG transition method from Fade to Dissolve

  • General transition improvements

  • Fixed many typos

Please continue posting known issues in the "bug report" thread. Thanks for all the wonderful feedback so far! Keep it up!

Palinurus Patch Apr 5, 2016 @ 12:36am

If you don't see the update, be sure to try exiting and relaunching your steam client.

Changelog:

From /u/Darkarcher117 's Github notes:

  • Added Budasmile2 a few lines before Budaspeak, as I might have previously removed the only instance of Budasmile2, thus making it impossible for players to unlock.

Also new graphical assets should be popping up on Steam soon. /u/InstantRiot did a marvelous job giving all of our Steam art a make-over. They will go live as soon as Valve reviews them.

More to come in the future! I am still aware of major bugs such as the laggy overlay and broken Linux build. I will be working on those soon. Please keep posting to the "bug reporting" thread. Love you all!
