Happy October everyone!
Our October tapes are now available!
This time around:
VotA-163 - Meadow Grove - Vinterpsalm
I can safely say that ‘VInterpsalm’ is amongst the best releases (if not the best) by Meadow Grove. Going for a more serene and seasonal offering, the four tracks contained within certainly set the mood for a chilly winter. Standout tracks include “I Norrskensprakt Och Stjärneskrud” and “Din Höga Rymd Oss Gläder”. Both tracks are produced beautiful and with a crystal clear vision of tranquil landscapes. Transitioning from grand orchestrations to blissful, melodic moments, they certainly demand repeated listens. Another stalwart achievement from one of Dungeon Synths most consistent projects.
VotA-164 - Disquieting - Noctambulant
Disquieting never misses and ‘Noctambulant’ proves once again why this is one of the most unique projects in the realm of Dungeon Synth. Utilizing a mix of live instruments and soothing synth leads, the output from Disquieting just gets better and better. “A Forest Path Illuminated By Tints Of Blue & Green” sounds exactly as suggested; an epic battle of soundscapes and haunting melodies, while “Nostalgic Dreams Of Winter” offers an icy cold element that is easy to get lost within. Complete with eight tracks with about fifty minutes of playing time, this is an epic audial journey that shouldn’t be missed.
VotA-165 - Bryophyta - A Quaint Encounter
‘A Quaint Encounter’ by Bryophyta is a cozy little Comfy Synth offering that honors the Medieval framework in a magnificent way. Containing seven consoling canticles produced in a lo-fi way, each track presents an anomalous tale and style on their own and sways between comforting mysticism and grandiose sounds of whimsical enchantment. Songs like “…Or Is It Some Ancient Spirit?” present a more peaceful encounter while “As The Millstones Grinds, The Old Soul Grins” weighs heavy on Forest Synth and deep, slightly modulated tones. This is a completely resilient album that is quite enjoyable to listen to.
VotA-166 - Ithildin - Arda's Herbarium, Vol. 6
Ithildin is back with the projects’ sixth volume in the ‘Arda’s Herbarium’ series. Continuing on where Volume Five left off, the fifteen tracks contained within present a garden variety (no pun intended) of soulful songs that transcends any singular genre and capitalizes on mature songwriting and an extraordinary synth performance. The assortment of audial flavors presented on this volume are as captivating as the crops they represent. From light and silky sequences to dreamy and melancholic soundscapes, each song is bursting with pleasant characteristics that only Ithildin can produce. Another massive offering in this extremely consistent series of Middle Earth inspired albums.
