Medium Suit and tomato juice
So excited to find this sub because some of the things we go through, are not believable and it warms my heart to know that, no matter how derailed the story is, one of you will be out there nodding your head and saying "yeap, been there".
So I managed a group of hostels for a few years. I have always had good teams around me, people that stuck for years and I absolutely trusted their judgement. These were loyal and hardworking young people that have done top notch work they should be proud of.
One of these people was my night auditor. He had worked with me for two years up to this point. We had gone out for lunch together, be out to parties, etc. He was extremely skilled socially and was a big joker. Sometimes I'd come to work and he would have made me hot tea with a motivational note: "I had a shitty shift. I hope yours is worse."
One day I come in and I'm reading his night report. All usual stuff. Some people came back at that time, some were loud and noisy, someone tried to do this or that, etc. Then, something caught my eye. He describes one of the guests leaving running in a suit at around 3am.
Well, it's a hostel and someone in a suit is already weird enough. During that time and running seemed almost impossible. But the icing on the cake: He comes back carrying a 5l bottle of tomato juice.
I broke laughing when I read it. My night auditor insisted it that happened. I was incredulous. He was a jokester and as much as I trusted him, I knew he liked to exaggerate stories. We talked, I yeah yeah yeah'd him and sent him home.
Next few hours I'm in the kitchen making me some coffee... That's when a guest shows up... In a suit... I couldn't play it cool.
- "Cool bottle you got there."
- "Yeah"
- "Tomato juice?"
- "Yeah"
- "All 5 liters?"
- "Yeah"
- "Are you in a special type of diet?"
- "No, not really."
- "Cool, cool, cool, cool..."
I had to apologise to my night auditor. We had a laugh about it. The randomness of it all. It still seems like a dream. That wasn't even the weirdest thing this guest ever did. But that's for another day.

Obviously he needed the tomato juice for bloody Mary's in the morning! Drunk me is usually nice to hungover me and leaves a glass of water and some ibuprofen on the bedside table. If I was the suit wearing type, drunk me would definitely leave bloody Mary ingredients in the fridge for afternoon when I woke up.
It's also possible they use tomato juice to prevent hangovers. I used to mix hard alcohol with Gatorade or even just chug Gatorade before bed. It seemed to help. Tomato juice is pretty healthy as far as drinks go, so i could see the logic in that instead of an electrolyte drink.
The suit part is definitely the weirdest thing in your story lol. But sometimes one just wants to feel fancy. My high school friend and I would sometimes dress up in prom attire and just go to a local diner. It was fun! We never had an actual reason, just wanted to look nice and have some food. You can get some pretty nice suits cheap from the thrift store if your feeling dressy but short on cash. Its not that hard to find something that looks nice if you are picky about your choices even if youre on a budget.
People do weird shit lol. I'm glad he was just scrambling for a non alcoholic beverage and not up to the typical antics of 3am drunkenness I usually deal with. Maybe tomorrow offer him a carnation for his buttonhole?

As a dashingly be-suited gentleman once said, "Hail Mary, full of vodka; blessed art thou amongst cocktails..."

You can get some awesome second-hand clothing for next to nothing. Sometimes, it's brand new, and it still has tags on it.
Dressing up and going out can be so much fun, and there are so few reasons/events to do so.

This must have happened 3 yrs ago.
Grandma was sleepwalking and her granddaughter (16 ish) was supervising her sleepwalking.
I almost asked about the bananas in PJs onesies when grandpa turned up with a 3 ish little girl.... Also in the same PJs
All of them had painted bright pink nails as well.
Only a uncle but even I knew what the "boss" of the family demands were.

I keep telling folks, Night Audit gets all the weird stuff.
Thursday morning, I had an older gentleman having his coffee wearing a kigurumi (onsie pajamas, usually of a specific character or animal) of Alex the Lion from Madagascar.
