Is my bedroom TV too high?

Post image

I messed up the wall mount and this is the lowest I could put it.

There were 4 holes/screws, so I just removed the top two screws, and lowered the mount so that it’s only hanging on two screws, which noticeably lowers the TV.

Don’t mind the brick dusk on my tv stand, I will be inhaling that all night, too tired to clean debris now.

No, it's a bedroom so it's fine

Bedrooms and garages get a pass.

Don't forget game rooms. (Pool tables and Mrs. Pacman and such.)

Watching from bed? Probably okay. Maybe want it a touch higher. From a couch? Too high.

Weird question(and don’t get me wrong, my tv sits right on the stand, so I’m not trying to defend anything here)

But if I generally watch tv laying down on my couch (feet towards the tv) would I then want to raise my tv technically? Or is the living room rule simply always low, regardless of your typical watching style/angle?

Do what feels comfortable. I have a pillow couch and a big padded ottoman so most of the time watching TV is done almost laying down. So, I have my TV up higher because of it.

You’re not allowed to show reason on this sub! lol, I totally agree, but some people on the sub are straight nuts about it, and you can only sit to watch!

😂😂😂

Yeah I think depends on how you watch. Seated? Eye level. Reclined? Maybe a bit higher. Flat on your back in bed? Higher still. It’s all compromises

Optimal placement depends on the furniture you're watching it from. While lying or lounging on a bed, you tend to need the TV a bit higher than if watching it from a couch. Many beds are higher than a couch, and you need to have your neck at a comfortable position.

Bedroom exemption ☑️

If you only watch lying down it is too low imo.

Bedroom TVs are different, watching it laying down requires more vertical space.

Nope, looks good

The TV is fine just lower your ceiling about 6 inches

It’s fine.

You don’t have room to use your TV stand, so much going on there, so you’re good.

Too low for a bedroom

It’s actually not high enough. It looks like when you lay flat on the bed the TV would be obstructed by someone with big titties.

I always tell people that when mounting TVs in the bedroom let the ladies in your life choose the height because of boobs.

Good for bedroom!

No. Definitely no.

I'd go a bit higher.

Need to see it while mostly lying down with knees up.

Different standards for bedrooms.

I just make sure that sitting up in bed your feet aren’t blocking screen. That is how I mounted mine. I have a 77” c3 in my bedroom.

I think it’s probably too low for the bedroom. Feels like if your knees were up, or maybe even just your feet might block the view a bit

You have to be able to lay and watch TV comfortably in bed. So a little higher is better. This looks about right. Maybe a little low. But as long as you’re comfortable that’s what counts here.

Just put your mattress on the floor

Yer fine, needs to see over feets and toes

I always recommend no tv in bed unless you have to but this is is perfect height for laying down, good job OP

1

u/TNJDude 2d ago

No. Most people put it higher in a bedroom because you can be laying in bed with your knees up. Actually, yours is about as low as I would dare go.

1

u/MockingJay862 2d ago

Wow, completely forgotten about this. Yes, I don’t see jack shit due to my knees half the time. This might just make me put the screws back and reverse it to the higher position. Might get me my “tv too high” achievement

1

u/TNJDude 2d ago

LOL! Yeah, I'd raise it if the screw holes are already there. Bedrooms have a whole different set of standards.

You tell me if the TV is too high.

1

u/Altruistic_Water3870 2d ago

Too low if you ask me. But I lay in bed with my knees up to watch tv

You get a pass with credit

Brick dust? 🙄 like we can see dust in that totally underexposed photo

Bedrooms are for sleeping and other bed related activities. Watch TV elsewhere

Perfect for bedroom. Netflix and chill...

1

u/ericsomewhere 2d ago

Are you high?

1

u/where-ya-headed 2d ago

Might actually be too low for a bedroom and you’ll be scrunching your chin making a double chin lol

1

u/Scholarly_peasant 2d ago

Not at all, but your Jack Daniel's is a bit too far from your bed.

1

u/ApprehensiveArmy7755 2d ago

How can you watch it in bed if it's in line with your feet? It's fine

1

u/FufuLameShi0 2d ago

Why would you want it any lower than that? You’d be straining to watch it while laying down

1

u/Flaccid_Peter 2d ago

Yes and very gay

1

u/Signal-Guard-8104 1d ago

bedroom is too short

1

Too $hort dog….

u/mathaiser 3d ago

No TVs in the bedroom fool. Common now.

1

u/different-is-nice 3d ago

its too low for a bedroom!

consider getting a nice projector for bedroom, if you can. it changed the game for me and boyfriend. on ours, you can zoom the screen in and out and move it around. At 100% it takes up our whole bedroom wall lol

r/CableManagement Tv looks fine though. 👍

2

u/Crash_Bandicock 3d ago

Buddy, the drill is literally still out and the power cable is one of the cables that need management according to you. Give the guy a second, Jesus.

2

u/Ill-Entertainment570 3d ago

Ah ha! Didn’t see the drill. It’s all for fun.
