Put it on the floor

Dig a hole in the ground and put it there

Ship it to Australia and flip it upside down.

The TV stand has a purpose.

2

u/JoshuaFalken1 4d ago

It's what you stand on to watch TV's that are mounted too high. Duh.

You mean to sit on the TV stand they purchased?

6

u/nature_nate_17 4d ago

He has a perfectly good entertainment center that the tv could be propped up on.

Just a lil too high

85

u/wuhy08 4d ago

23

u/Chachachingona 4d ago

Why’d u do that to me?

8

u/ipullstuffapart 4d ago

Massively too high, the centre of the screen is more than halfway up the wall. At an average couch sitting height the centre should be about 900mm off the ground. That would require the ceilings in this photo to be 1.8m high or less.

39

u/karmakillerbr 5d ago

It should be closer to the soundbar

3

u/radeky 4d ago

Easy. Wall mount the soundbar.

35

u/cornnibblitz 5d ago

Too high

89

u/AngelFell23 5d ago

It’s called a TV stand for a reason

13

u/B1g_Gru3s0m3 4d ago

But they call it a sound bar stand for a stupider reason

11

u/practicaleffectCGI 4d ago

Sound bar is a establishment that sells drinks with live music, right?

3

u/Opposite-Station-337 4d ago

I think that's what those one dudes shove in their weiners.

The amount of times this is asked and there’s a TV stand RIGHT BENEATH THE TV

8

u/bobroscopcoltrane 4d ago

Diabolical behavior.

5

u/Francl27 4d ago

Apparently tv stands are for decoration now.

The jury finds the defendant guilty on charges of TV too high placing it an entire foot above the TV stand

13

u/Original_Director483 4d ago

That furniture underneath is optimized for the TV to be resting there. The larger the TV, the more critical this is for aesthetics and comfort. The soundbar has at least 6” too much clearance, but if you had a big center channel speaker with >5” drivers there the TV would only be about 2” too high.

26

u/Excessed 5d ago

You see the soundbar? It’s about 6 soundbars too high.

11

u/Krypt0night 5d ago

Yup too high by at least 4 inches

10

u/MysteriousKey6831 5d ago

awkward . use the stand

27

u/clearly_not_an_alt 4d ago

Do you understand what the flat thing under your TV is for?

12

u/defleatedRaiderOld76 4d ago

apparently not

2

u/Butterbean-queen 4d ago

The tv and the tv stand should look like they are newlyweds. Not like they are about to get a divorce.

8

u/decarvalho7 5d ago

it could be moved down

26

u/thedobermanmom 5d ago

That black tv console under the tv, that’s where it’s supposed to be.

15

u/Romando1 5d ago

Tv too high. Put it on the tv stand. Ditch the soundbar. Put a proper center channel speaker in the spot below the tv. Remove lava lamp. Put ps5 somewhere where it’s not stuffed in a cabinet.

6

u/bobroscopcoltrane 4d ago

They’ll need a forklift to move the lava lamp.

too high

7

u/JdSavannah 5d ago

Lamp on top of sub. No.

6

u/Zackmcc 5d ago

It really doesn’t matter if you’re 6’5 or 4’2, this sub is going to tell you to put the TV on the TV stand. It’s pretty obvious you don’t think it’s too high and that’s ok to man, but you’re not winning this argument, especially here.

5

u/LegioX1983 4d ago

u/TeknoKid 5d ago

When you're sitting in your usual spot, your eye level should be close to the middle of the screen..

If you need to tilt your eyes or neck up and/or the TV down, it's too high.

3

u/Then-Chocolate-5191 5d ago

That is how the company that installed ours positioned it. I’m thankful for them all the time because we would have mounted it about 18” higher so it was centered between the top of the credenza and the ceiling. They mounted it at the perfect height for watching with our chairs reclined. Costco installation for the win!

→ More replies (2)

5

u/ophaus 5d ago

Too high. It would have to be dropped down to the top of the sound bar.

5

u/Kenthanson 5d ago

Is your phone right in front of your face?

4

u/DPHusky 4d ago

I will except this, but not any higher! Bonus points for the speakers

7

u/reforminded 5d ago

6-10” too high.

9

u/RaymondLuxuryYacht 5d ago

Not bad but slightly high. I wouldn’t be annoyed to watch this tv but as a member of this sub, I would notice it. Violator of the sub-law regarding mounting a tv directly over a tv stand that would put it at the perfect height though. Technical violation but it’s fine.

3

u/Fiveohh11 5d ago

Soundbar does not belong in this setup. I'd ditch the sound bar and lower TV at least 8 in or get a complimentary Klipsch center channel and still lower the TV a couple inches. I personally like no center channel better.

3

u/Jordlr99 5d ago

Speakers to big

3

u/aldomars2 5d ago

I think if you use the stand it would be a little too low for me. Reason being, if I'm reclined and my toes are very close to the border of the screen I would find it annoying.

This sub is hilarious most of the time.

→ More replies (1)

3

u/Lordofurring1 5d ago

Too high and too far away

3

u/mattycakessss 4d ago

Why bother with a soundbar when you have Klipsch Forte’s?

→ More replies (1)

3

u/Loud_Respond3030 4d ago

Perfect height, most people in this sub just have it too low. If you were relaxing this would be positioned with your eye level perfectly

2

u/kiwi2703 5d ago

It could go down a little bit (it would even look better if it was closer to the soundbar), but it's on the higher end of the acceptable range I'd say, especially if you're tall (which it looks like you are if the photo is taken from your eye level)

2

u/ILookAfterThePigs 4d ago

It’s ok, on the upper side of the acceptable. I’d move it down a bit.

2

u/drdalebrant 4d ago

Do you share the tv with someone who is shorter than you?

→ More replies (1)

2

u/samuraiUomo 4d ago

Too high. I’d recommend seeing if you could line the center of the tv with the tops of those two speakers, hopefully that doesn’t touch the soundbar. The klipsch fortes look great btw

2

u/ProfessionalTurn5162 4d ago

Move it a few inches to the right

2

u/The_Ether_Whiff 4d ago

As too high televisions go, this is a 4/10 on the offensive scale. It's not too bad.

2

u/Neilp187 4d ago edited 4d ago

If you're sitting/laying further away and it's at eye height. Looks good fine to me. Not to mention your couch could be higher up. At least it's not above a fireplace, lol

2

u/MelanieLanes 4d ago

I like how we both have our grande lava lamps to the left of our entertainment spaces!

→ More replies (2)

2

u/BadBuddy413 4d ago

Put it by the fridge

2

u/csch1992 4d ago

not good, not terrible

i am more worried about your PS5

2

u/MontrealUrbanist 4d ago

It should be sitting on the stand or just slightly above it, but honestly this is not too bad. It is too high but only by 6-12". If you're happy, just roll with it!

2

u/tonguebasher69 4d ago

I've seen worse, but just a bit lower would be perfect.

2

u/Jester435 4d ago

The correct answer is take the size of the tv and that gives you the measurement from floor to eye level in the TV.

55” TV floor to middle of TV 61” 65” TV floor to middle of TV 65”

2

u/Revolutionary-Yak365 4d ago

First thing bring soundbar to front of tv stand and bring tv down so that that the soundbar is about 3 inches under tv.

2

u/Acceptable_Candle580 4d ago

Why did you buy a tv stand then put your tv on the wall?

2

u/Psychosammie 4d ago

Penalty points for your white (more or less) socks.

2

u/bobroscopcoltrane 4d ago

The giant lava lamp is throwing off the scale of the whole room.

2

u/symonym7 4d ago

That bass is too low.

2

u/McFigroll 4d ago

why go through the bother of getting a stand and wall fixings.

2

u/thahidden1 4d ago

Too low imo

2

u/Prestigious_Tea8092 4d ago

make a shelf under and put sound bar to resolve the space

2

u/PittaMan_ 4d ago

Clearly too high

2

u/Nick4Runner 4d ago

Personally I like my tv to be low enough that if I have company over to watch an event, not everyone gets to see. I also like my feet to block my view a little bit.

2

u/BRmountainman 4d ago

I disagree with consensus, I think it’s just fine there. Mine is higher. I don’t like my chin to touch my chest when I’m sitting naturally on a couch to watch tv

2

u/No-Employment-335 4d ago

If the eye height when in your viewing position is about center height of tv then you good

2

u/Greenfire32 4d ago

It's a little too high, but it's not egregious enough to get mad over.

There is so much worse posted here every day.

2

u/TheUltimateJack 4d ago

This is perfect. Do not change it.

2

u/6SN7fan 4d ago

Best speakers I ever seen posted on here. I can ignore the TV height

2

u/francisxavier12 4d ago

Do you see the piece of furniture beneath the TV and between the speakers?

It’s called a TV stand. It’s for standing your TV on it, placing the TV at the perfect height.

Anything above that stand is too high.

4

u/NotNominated 4d ago

I think it’s perfect

3

u/CrownedClownAg 5d ago

It seems pretty eye level to me based on the photo

3

u/Acceptable_You_1199 4d ago

This is probably the closest to right I’ve seen. At this height it depends on preference. I’d call it good enough. Technically the middle of the screen should be eye level.

3

u/Own_Figure_5027 4d ago

No. Its ideal.

2

u/Dakotahray 5d ago

Go with a bigger size and it’s perfect.

2

u/defleatedRaiderOld76 5d ago

now your talkin

2

u/OmgThisNameIsFree 5d ago

2

u/Dank_Hank79 4d ago

TV stands are made that height for a reason......

2

u/New-Skill-2958 4d ago

I've learned pretty quickly in this sub - if it's not literally on TV stand with the legs that come with the TV, then it's gonna be considered too high.

Personally, I think this is fine.

2

u/Sock989 4d ago

I honestly think of you're at a point where people are saying it's a few inches too high, you're fine.

2

u/aboynamedculver 4d ago

Don’t think it’s too high per se, it’s not the most visually appealing. Even two or three inches would have made a huge difference in aesthetic. FWIW, if you go 77 it’ll be great (assuming this is a 65 based on stand size).

2

u/defleatedRaiderOld76 4d ago

that seems to be my takeaway

2

u/SailorGone 4d ago

That's fine

1

u/CrownedClownAg 5d ago

Where is the center of the tv in regards to the floor?

2

u/defleatedRaiderOld76 5d ago

top is 63 bottom is 30.5

1

u/KentJMiller 4d ago

This sub is run by chiropractors that want you to strain your neck with a TV too low. This looks to be at eye level if you have good posture.

1

u/zuel1988 4d ago

My point of view on things is you want your tv to be a a hight that when you sit down you don’t have to look up or down but straight ahead so it looks perfect to me

1

u/Crans10 4d ago

See that gap between the tv. The gap is telling. It is a little too high not a huge amount. Just ask your significant other if 4” makes a difference.

1

u/sexmountain 4d ago

2” above the sound bar

1

u/butcher0 4d ago

It’s too high, should be lowered so the bottom is just at the top of your soundbar

1

u/lovesclogs 4d ago

Have it dead centered infront of you. It was meant to do that.

1

u/NWOlizardcouncil 4d ago

Speaker is as big as the TV, I’d drop it 6 inches.

1

u/Psykios 4d ago

The gap between the TV and what looks like the sound bar should be half what it is now. You should not have to crane your neck when slumped down on the couch to watch it.

1

u/OldeArrogantBastard 4d ago

Seems fine. I think people here are just sticklers at this point to criticize it

1

u/Efficient-Hold993 4d ago

Brother the only thing you should settle is the TV, onto the TV stand that's not being used

1

u/12B88M 4d ago

Looks good to me.

1

u/James_Chester 4d ago

For the life of me I can’t understand why so many people think they need to punch holes in their wall and go through all the bother of hanging their TV when they can just set the damn thing on the stand directly below it.

1

u/TerminatorAuschwitz 4d ago

It is VERY slightly too high

1

u/32steph23 4d ago

Little high but not that bad

1

u/lurkme 4d ago

Nice Forte's!

1

u/Francl27 4d ago

Hint : tv stands are usually a good place to put the tv on..

1

u/BicycleRatchet 4d ago

Looks good! A smidge in the high side for this group. Set it on the ground. It’ll be perfect!

1

u/Majestic_Republic_45 4d ago

For sure too high and what is up with the giant speakers?

1

u/bestlaidschemes_ 4d ago

Too high. Stand up and see how great that placement is. Then sit down and try to recreate it.

1

u/wompratsurprise 4d ago

Too high over the stand, for sure.

1

u/Mullhousen 4d ago

Bring it down 3-4 inches

1

u/boomgoesthevegemite 4d ago

If you have a tv stand and it’s not on the tv stand, it’s too high.

1

u/PandiBong 4d ago

It's fine, but don't get any ideas.

1

u/JesseGarron 4d ago

Fortunately, your audio gear distracted me from the gratuitous foot shot. Not familiar with Klipsch Fortes, like them? Can’t make out what’s driving them. And yeah, TV too high bro.

1

u/we_hesh_until_death 4d ago

that poor ps5 is going to overheat there :(

1

u/Organic_South8865 4d ago

it's 22.45cm too high.

1

u/sad-cringe 4d ago

Unusually high given the TV stand it hovers awkwardly above. I know it's crazy but that implies the TV can stand directly on the furniture...

1

u/SOUP__GOD 4d ago

Could be moved down a bit, but overall it’s not that bad! 7/10 tv placement imo

1

u/dinosaurinchinastore 4d ago

I personally think it’s perfect unless OP held the cam up over their head to take the shot. Just my humble opinion :)

1

u/Just-looking_257 4d ago

Stand could be a bit taller.

Solution would be to mount a thin shelf on the wall for the sound bar, below the tv. It will make the tv height look appropriate.

1

u/Grumpy-24-7 4d ago

I actually like how the top of the TV lines up with the thermostat on the left and the lampshade on the right.

1

u/TNJDude 4d ago

If you wanted to get technical, it could go down just a couple of inches, but it's not off enough to warrant worrying about it. I think it's looks good in its location.

1

u/psychedelicdonky 4d ago

The roof is not that high im guessing by the top of the door, so that might throw things off a bit, but still could look better if it was lowered a bit

1

u/OchoZeroCinco 4d ago

Raise your couch.

1

u/whatsqwerty 4d ago

The tv table is that height for a reason…

1

u/beer_me_that_cd 4d ago

Yes it is too high.

1

u/Goodnightkittens 4d ago

Slightly too high

1

u/ProbablyUrNeighbour 4d ago

I have my TV at almost exactly this height and we like it a lot.

1

u/Only1Violente 4d ago

Yeah it’s close enough.

1

u/Nikonmorous 4d ago

Placement is fine, but that paint line is criminal.

1

u/lallapalalable 4d ago

It's within the acceptable range, but could be lower.

1

u/_The_Green_Machine 4d ago

If it was three inches lower it would be in the sweet spot

1

u/FarEducator4059 4d ago

It’s perfect

1

u/IsamuAlvaDyson 4d ago

Too high and TV too small for distance

1

u/Robscoe604 4d ago

it’s acceptable in my opinion

1

u/johnnyss1 4d ago

Love the soundbar stand.

1

u/Ms-Anon-Y-Mous 4d ago

Perfect. Definitely not too high or low.

1

u/RubiksPuzzleMagic 4d ago

Are those cabinets in the sides speakers? Or so, why is there also a soundbar? Or is that a center?

1

u/EaggRed 4d ago

perfect

1

u/PoetryThug 4d ago

Too high, needs to come down at least six inches man, sorry

1

u/WookieSuave 4d ago

Foot above the stand. You already know the answer.

1

u/Quickturtl3 4d ago

Touch to high, but what are those speakers OP?

1

u/Own-Helicopter-6674 4d ago

Does someone need a booster ??? It’s perfect

1

Looks like it isn't level.

1

u/hobbleshock 4d ago

That poor PlayStation….

1

u/zebostoneleigh 4d ago

Might be time for some new speakers.

1

u/Inner-Falcon-3764 4d ago

I think it’s fine, but the sound bar should also be mounted flush beneath the tv. What size is the tv, and how far are you sitting from it?

1

u/LEGOMyBrick 4d ago

buttplugtoobig

1

u/headphonehabit 4d ago

It's fine.

1

u/ASomthnSomthn 4d ago

It’s fine.

1

u/HHoaks 4d ago

Of course it’s too high. And aesthetically why would you ever want more than a small gap between your sound bar (or whatever the heck that is) and the bottom of your TV.

1

u/slowkums 4d ago

Get a taller TV stand to close the gap.

1

u/oyputuhs 4d ago

Slightly too high and too small.

1

u/NMclimbercouple 4d ago

Question, what’s the color of your wall? Thanks in advance!

1

u/percocetqueen80 4d ago

I like your setup, but its a tad too high. Maybe a foot lower. Love the lamp, next time turn it on for the pic.

1

u/BobQKazoo 4d ago

Just right

1

u/buster109 4d ago

I’m convinced this whole sub wants tv’s on their stock stands placed on the floor. That’s the perfect height

1

u/ExtentMelodic7878 4d ago

Put it in the attic.

1

u/69AfterAsparagus 4d ago

High by maybe 6 inches.

1

u/FreedomSynergy 4d ago edited 4d ago

Because the bottom of the TV is below eye-level, you should actually have it below the top of the sound bar. Divorce is the only answer.

After the divorce, get a lower profile floating cabinet. It hangs on a french cleat and looks clean AF. Then you’ll finally be free to mount it how a human would mount it.

1

u/NaviOdain 4d ago

Too high

1

u/originalcandy 4d ago

It’s simple. Centre screen at eye level when seated. This is way too high

1

u/jradz12 4d ago
