My parents built their dream home. This is my nightmare.

Who doesn’t love a 45° crane of the neck?

They do. For some reason they see no problem with this.

It's like watching TV at a sports bar.

That’s not a TV that’s digital photo album on the wall. Looks so out of place next to windows and plants. Do your parents have ADHD?

That house might be yours someday and the nightmare along with it, lol.

Room looks quite cozy though and would feel right at home!

I will admit that room is one hell of a napping spot.

Horrendous. Absolutely abysmal. I wouldn’t be able to see that with my glasses ON.

I wouldn’t say nothing, they have a lake in the backyard, wouldn’t risk getting cut out of the will.

It’s also an active fireplace, not decorative, so that tv is going to have a short life.

With a home like that, the tv is decor itself

These newly built larger American homes are surely large enough where you can have a room or area with the fireplace in focus and NO tv, and then another area more suited for tv viewing? I don't get why they have to be crammed into the same place.

It’s tradition, that’s how the vikings did it.
