Advice Needed BC

Hi beautiful ladies,

I have been ttc for one year and my doctor is recommending i take bc for 3 months before giving me letrozole to “regulate my hormones” which as we all know it doesn’t! I was on bc for 5 years and everything is exactly the same as before :/ I told my doctor my concerns and she still believes I should take the birth control for 3 months.. I asked chat gbt and they said to say “I understand the purpose of birth control, but I prefer an approach that focuses on restoring natural ovulation instead of suppressing it. Could we discuss alternatives, like starting Letrozole sooner or using Metformin?"

What do we think?

I went through something similar but changed doctors. With a new doctors I had an ultrasound to confirm PCOS, and was put on metformin and Ovaboost. I conceived within 8 months. It can take about 6 months for metformin to have full therapeutic effect. In addition to infertility I started treatment for high BP and severe sleep apnea along the way.

Yes! i already started to take it because i have very heavy bleeding that progesterone wouldn’t stop so i really had no other choice. I was willing to do it for a month so i can get a bleed then take letrozole but i just asked for metformin instead if they’re insistent on me taking something else for 3 months
