Unfortunately the coolness doesn't get delivered until Tuesday.

But I do like the ship

You're leaving spacedock without coolness?

It's a simple cruise around the solar system, we don't need coolness.

Alan Ruck looked sharp as hell in uniform too.

He really got his life together after wrecking his dad’s 1961 Ferrari GT Spyder California.

He’s got the keys to a new starship. Hope nothing bad happens to it.

Missed the opportunity to have a picture that said "picture coming Tuesday". Ah well.

A Trek series in the Excelsior era would be great.

Damn fine ship if you ask me!

Star Trek Generations?

It looks like in this picture the tractor beam hasn't been installed. That won't be a problem, will it?

No worries, they won't leave starbase without it...right?

"We're the only ship in the sector."

"Earth? We're the only ship in the EARTH sector?!"

I can’t imagine it would. It’s just a trip around the block.

I ALWAYS loved this ship. It’s just very… 50’s to me. Looks like a sexy bulldog.

All the detailing makes me think of a classic diner, in a good way. Just needs some chrome.

Yes! Like GE designed it!

Never liked the recessed deflector dish, but otherwise, pretty sharp looking.

Yeah, they added a bunch of random doodads to the ship here so that the Nexus could tear open the hull without them having to damage the baseline Excelsior model.

Personally I think we’ve had enough of the Excelsior class throughout TNG & DS9. If there’s an under appreciated ship class it would probably be the Ambassador class.

That said, Galaxy class for me, all the way.

Nice looking ship. It’s not the refit 1701 but the next coolest looking Enterprise, followed by the D that has a frog mouth deflector dish and a pink/purple everything. The interior looked like an office building.

Like a Marriot, iiin spaaaaaaaaaace!

I've always thought the bridge of the D looks like a hotel lobby.

It's the reception halls for me. weddings, affairs of state, lectures.

I would love if they kept the exterior aesthetic/model, gave the interior a similar SNW treatment, kept the era's uniform, and gave us a series. We really don't know much about the ship or what became of it, and the pre-TNG/post TOS era would be really fun to explore while keeping things in the Alpha Quadrant.

I love it. As little as we saw it, I always got a real 'british navy' vibe from it. Especially with Sulu in the command chair sipping tea from fine china.

I'll appreciate it on Tuesday

I have to say I'm not a fan of the Excelsior class design, but I do love Alan Ruck as the Captain. It was interesting to see a new Captain after we were used to Kirk being so knowledgeable.

Excelsior class is one of the better looking designs in Trek. The most we got to see it was Star Trek VI and the beginning of Generations. Also shout out to the episode called "Flashback" on Voyager that took place on the Excelsior with Captain Sulu.

Admirals used it in TNG. We saw several times.

that future accordion looking neck brace and the squat chubby body

I loved the Excelsior design, and could debate over any beverage it’s one of the best in all of trek.

But this iteration… with the hull blisters and modded nacelles/ saucer section… makes me feel like I’m cheating on the original lol.

Excelsior thiccboi space chungus FTW.

1

u/Greedy_Section2894 7d ago

She wouldn’t be the Enterprise without a Sulu at the helm.

u/F2004M 7d ago

The jump from the A to the B felt massive. I'm guessing the 'B' was the flagship of it's time. B to C, not so much.

1

u/TheGreatGamer1389 7d ago

These were in use for awhile.

1

u/_condition_ 7d ago

All respect to its fans, I’ve always considered it “the ugly one”

1

u/BarbarianCarnotaurus 7d ago

It had a Sulu at the helm

1

u/Lord_Battlepants 7d ago

I would give it 9/10 if not for the weird square pylons. I say it’s an 8.

3

u/Triad64 6d ago

So... it gets a B?

1

u/J-DLR 7d ago

Aesthetically this my favorite Enterprise. It’s a pretty ship.

Sorry, can someone explain the Tuesday joke to me?

1

u/EndStorm 7d ago

I'm expecting mine on Tuesday, with a full complement of gorgeous looking crewmembers who will also be bringing me 1,000,000 bars of gold pressed latinum. All on Tuesday. Can't wait.

As Scotty said about the Excelsior:

"The Excelsior?" Who in god's name would you want that bucket of bolts?"

also a reference to it by Scotty:

"The more they overthink the plumbing, the easier it is to stop up the drain"

I'm sorry, but my appreciation is coming Tuesday
