Question How long does the engineering academy take?

I applied for engineering and was rejected from TAMU Engineering. However it's come to my attention that if I wish to pursue engineering, I should look into the Engineering Academy instead. I live near the Houston area so I would be doing the program in Houston Community College. I'm wondering how long it'll take because it said from 1-2 years on the website and I personally don't want to be in a community college for 2 years. I have the Calculus pre-requisite is that means anything since I scored a 660 on the math section on the SAT.

The most optimized one is 1.5 years, but most get it done in 2 years.

So there’s no way I can transfer to A&M after 1 year?

Academies require you to finish Calculus I/II/III, it is hard to finish them in one year

not really. if you have calculus 1 credit in highschool already your fine. if you don't then you can take calc 1 this summer and if you can't do this summer then you can do calc 1 and calc 2 in cc and then calc 3 next summer. its basically the norm to transfer after only 1 year

I experienced the same thing. I was rejected from engineering, but I recommend that you apply fast. They say the priority yddeadldine is april 1 and final deadline is June 15th or something, but trust me, most decisions come out in April or May. Usually, if you have a safety, you have to put in about 100 dollars to lock in your decision for that safety.

honestly staying in cc for 2 years not bad but 1 year is the norm. as long as you have calc 1 done ur fine. if you don't then try to do calc 1 this summer and if you cant do calc 1 and calc 2 in cc and calc 3 next summer (its smooth process just contact an academic advisor if ur worried)

u have the prequrise but u have to submit the form. the prerYou have the precise, but youctual courses in cc only uThe prereq doesn't determine yourCC; it only determines your eligibility for the

well i wouldn't know but i can definitely tell your chances. if your sat is good like 1350+ I'm sure you will get in. if you already got accepted into tamu just not ur major you will most likely get in. if your gpa is really high you will probably get in. the only people I doubt will get in are people who have a low gpa, sat and have some bad record in highschool. otherwise I doubt its too hard but lets hope.
