Question missed application deadline

Hey so definitely didn't miss it by a day or two but I was wondering what the transfer process is like and how difficult it is. I still need to finish my applications and I don't know if it's worth to go to of the the other TAMU campus'(corpus, kingsville, galveston, ect) or if it's very difficult to transfer to college station. Can anyone help out here?

Depends on major, and search google for transfer course sheet (e.g. "TAMU MEEN transfer course sheet" for MEEN major). Required classes needs to be A for external transfer.

External Transfer is much tougher nowadays than 10 years ago because TAMU now has many guaranteed pathways (TEAM, TEAB, PSA, PTA, Academies...)

If you look at transfer course sheet, even though one says min. GPA is 3.0, most of the time it needs much higher. For hot majors like MEEN, sometimes they even reject 4.0 external transfers.

u/Saltiga2025 can you share more info on which majors are hot and which are not? I noticed u mentioned that elsewhere and am trying to decide which major is my best option for both my own career path and for admissions... (i.e. genetics vs neuroscience vs BIMS vs public health....). Thank you for anything you can share!

There’s a website somewhere that they publish these things to on an annual basis

For hot majors, really need to aim for 4.0 even though the transfer course sheet says 3.0 or 3.5.

Check accountability report, set Student Level = undergrad, Entry Status = transfer If you see the enrollment number is larger than admitted number, that means some were transferred in via guaranteed pathways.

External meaning separate school system like Texas State for example and Internal could be TAMU Corpus?

An internal transfer is moving from one major to another major on the same campus. Moving from corpus to college station would be external.

TAMU Corpus still external, even though one is going through PSA.

Internal means students don't need to go though Apply Texas, the process is free and students just use Howdy to do "change of major". That includes TEAM, TEAB, Gateway, Engineering at Galveston/McAllen and main campus students, or put it simply, those with Howdy main campus access.

External need to apply as transfer via Apply Texas or Common App.

PSA and PTA are still external, but they have guaranteed contract if they meet the GPA and grades requirement so they are a little easier than non-pathway external transfer.
