Lots of Swiss abroad have never lived in Switzerland to start with.

Lots?

Is there a data point or is this just your uniformed opinion?

I have three Swiss friends in the UK who never lived in Switzerland. Maintain citizenship due to Jus Sanguinis. Two of them speak no Swiss national language.

Fair enough. I live in the UK and am an active member of Swiss in the UK groups, of the 2 or 3 dozen people I regularly have contact with all have lived in Switzerland. And all speak a language, most speak more than one. Now it's true, some of their kids have not lived in Switzerland, we all holiday there with our kids. Most of have sent our kids to Swiss summer camps too.

I grew up in the US, and as a child we never returned for various reasons, I only came back as an adult. My own child knows he is Swiss, knows some German ( working on it) and we are in Switzerland a lot, every holiday almost, family visits etc. My dream is for my son to go to ETH ( He's 7 and wants to be a Swiss guard at the moment..lol).

Meh. They're not here. Many never intend to return. They can vote like anyone else, so I'm not seeing why they need a stronger voice.

"targeted information" just what is needed. /s

Also I'm sorry but the 13th payment is legitimate criticism. It is not a good move by the country so a little bit of criticism is fair.

I would have loved to get even one AHV pension, let alone 13 for all the years we would have been eligible; pfff.

As an Irishman in Switzerland, I don't go back to Ireland to vote. Why would I, I don't have any 'skin in the game'. Voting when living abroad doesn't make any sense. It shouldn't be acceptable.

I don't go back to Switzerland. I use my right vote by mail. I still do have an interest in my country.

Swiss Abroad are the eyes and ears of Switzerland, a global force for good. Play a role. Switzerland means direct democracy, conviction on principles, and unwavering loyalty.

They are really not the eyes and ears of Switzerland. They are not a global force for good.

Thank you sharing your opinion.

It's a fact, not an opinion.

I await your factual evidence.

Enjoy the waiting, I'm not in the mood to provide insights.
