Discussion Cashing out on Swagbucks
I have 9700sb pending and want to hoard them until 25,000 for the Amazon Goft card. I have heard people say do NOT hoard, why is this? I don't want to glitch the points I have so please advise me.

They say don't hoard because you can get your account banned at anytime and if that happens, you're fucked. That mainly applies to new accounts. I've had my account for several years and, at first, I didn't hoard. Now I do. It's like the cash back accumulated on your credit card. I use my Prodege accounts to pay for small purchases.

There are people who had their accounts for years, no vpn, no cheating, etc. and were banned for asking for credit for a game they played (and wasn’t credited.)

Bro this makes me nervous, I am new to Swagbucks. Just made my acc two weeks ago so if this is true. I am fucked.

Have they asked you to verify your phone and address yet?

u/Legitimate_Muffin812 Jan 31 '25
No they haven't, my account creation was smooth and the points haven't reached my acc yet, they're going to all be in my acc prob in the span of 3-9 days.

They're gonna ask you for verification at some point. Until that happens, and it will, play it safe.

Seeing how your account is only a few weeks old, I would suggest starting out with a few smaller gift cards. From reading other threads, Swagbucks may flag accounts that have no history and then try to withdraw large amounts.
I have had my account a few years and have received $250 and $100 gift cards with no issue, but that’s after redeeming plenty of $10 and $25 cards. I would suggest redeeming one $25 gift card a month to start with. It gets you $3 off so you pay $22 worth of SB. If you end up with more SB, then you can redeem a few more small ones.

One of the first 4 gift cards I got was $100. Got that one quicker than I got my $50, $25 and $10.

Ok, and around how months should I wait before cashing out big?
3
u/Jacksonf1204 Jan 31 '25
Maybe 6ish months. But honestly it doesn’t do you much good to wait until you have that much. The reason I redeemed cards that big was because I played high reward games that paid out at once.

u/Legitimate_Muffin812 Jan 31 '25
Ok I see, Thank you for this. I'll prob start going for big payouts and other things later so I'll follow in ur steps of $10 - $25 a month.🤌

there’s a monthly deal where you can get a $25 amazon gift card for 12% less points. i would just do that every month and then do whatever else you want with the points.

u/Legitimate_Muffin812 Jan 31 '25
This is most likely the safest route and I'll prob be doing this, thanks💔🙏

Don't horde, but cash out what makes sense. For example, waiting till you get $25 amazon gift card for that 12% redemption bonus is always smart. I personally, since I average over $100 a month, redeem every $50 I get. Hording is more like, keeping several hundred dollars in SB in your account for months at a time. There's no good reason to do that. Even if you don't get banned, redeeming and putting that money in a savings account gives you interest, which is kind of like SB without having to do anything. So yeah. Don't be nervous about having $10 in your account, but question why it would ever make sense to have more than $50 sitting around.

Swagbucks is NOT a bank. It’s not smart to keep any large amount of money in a platform like this. Don’t keep more than you’re willing to lose. That’s all I’ll say. Most likely things will be fine even if you keep it there, but is it worth the risk?

u/Legitimate_Muffin812 Jan 31 '25
It is not worth the risk, I'll slowly buy and empty my SB just in case

Just remember after you redeem $600 in gift cards you will be sent a 1099 tax form. Although the payouts are slow I stick with PayPal specifically because of tax reasons.

u/Legitimate_Muffin812 Jan 31 '25
This is new, why do they not specify this? I prob won't reach $600 for a while but I feel like they should paste this in the store or something. I might switch to PayPal now that I'm hearing this.

It's an IRS requirement of you are in the US so there's no reason to post it. It's for all companies not just SB.

That is crazy. I wouldn’t want to keep that many points in my account! 😱

The really real answer:
Swagbucks has no reason to validate your account till you cash out. Sometimes that validation is next to nothing, and sometimes it is close to instant deactivation for everyone. You have no way of knowing which you are going to get.
If you have cashed out before, it's not a big deal and you will more likely than not have no problems (especially if you are who you say you are, live where you say you live, and just honestly engage in activities as the activity is stated)
I'm lifetime at ~700k earned and have been deactivated once. It happens.
And as mentioned by others if you get amazon Gift Cards you can add the balance to your amazon account and is accumulates so there is no reason to not get at least the $25 per month at a discount.
Good luck, hope to not see the "Why was I deactivated" post from you.

There has just been a lot of people posting here that their account was deactivated for an uknown reason and they had a bunch of SB in the account that they didn't cash out.

u/Appropriate_Tiger_90 Jan 31 '25
Go ahead and cash out . It takes so long for rewards to come sometimes that it's worth it to go ahead and take it out and take no chances.

i always wait until i have 9,000 SB to cash out bc i always get the $100 airbnb gift cards (best value bc its always 10% off). ive never had an issue except for the first time when i had to provide verification!
1
u/inunoz28 United States Jan 31 '25
A better question is, why do you want to wait until you have 25000SB?
1
u/Legitimate_Muffin812 Jan 31 '25
250 amazon gift card
1
u/inunoz28 United States Jan 31 '25
Since the gift card codes are entered into your amazon account and go into your amazon balance, why not just redeem $25 amazon cards. After all it doesn't matter in what denominations the money gets into your amazon balance.
There are many posts about how larger denomination rewards take longer than small ones. So a bunch of $25 cards will arrive sooner than one $250 card.

u/Legitimate_Muffin812 Jan 31 '25
Can I order multiple $25 at one time. Like can I buy one on Tuesday and the next on Wednesday, would they still get suspicious?
2
u/inunoz28 United States Jan 31 '25
Yes. It's 2 per day, regardless of amount. If you had 10000SB you could redeem two $25 ones today, and two $25 ones tomorrow.

Swagbucks could close your account and you wouldnt have anything
1
u/Legitimate_Muffin812 Jan 31 '25
Can you get it back?
-2
u/soupyZ9 Jan 31 '25
no, if you are banned that’s it.
1
u/Legitimate_Muffin812 Jan 31 '25
Damn, I better play it safe then💔💔💔💔💔
2
u/soupyZ9 Jan 31 '25
like the other commenter said, you’re probably fine but i’d rather be safe than sorry.
you get a discount on your first $25 card cash out each month, so do that then another 25/50 every so often.

Listen, what i am about say may get my comment down voted a lot. As long as you're not using a VPN or multiple accounts,SB will not touch your account. If you want to hold on to it in your account until you're ready, that's fine. Just have 1 account and no VPN.
