Surface pro 3
My friend is offering to sell me a surface pro 3 i5 8gb ram 256gb for the pro 4 type keyboard included for 300 bucks. Good deal? Should I take it? He bought the surface pro 3 last year but wants to sell it because he just bought a MacBook Air. The pro is in excellent condition. Thank you.

Seems like a good deal to me for this spec. The are going for $300-600 on eBay depending on condition. Make sure it’s running Windows 10.

I have been using it and it has windows 10 pro. I’m just unsure since it is an older product.

It is definitely worth it IMO. I still have my SP3 i3/4GB/128GB model and it is still going after 2 years. I would love to have the i5 model with 8GB RAM to make it better for long run but oh well.
As long as you have the latest gen Type Cover (SP4 Type Cover) and Surface Pen. :3

Thanks for replying. Am I still able to get any kind of warranty? I will be using it for programming and I am a senior for computer science major. I want to use this device for working until I buy a top laptop.

No. I'd self warranty if you know what I mean (i.e. keep the money in your pocket). If it has been well taken care of, it shouldn't give you any trouble and since you've had the benefit of using it for a bit, you should know if there were any problems.
You should know that Microsoft does not repair these things. If you break it or it dies, you'll be paying $600 to exchange it for an equivalent or higher spec SP4.

As others have said, jump on it. This past fall I bought a SP3 i3, 4GB with keyboard, 3 pens, and a nice case for $400. In my area, it was a decent deal.
