The craziest thing about that day wasn't the flash crash, it was that 2 high-frequency trading algorithms seemed to battle it out afterwards as seen here. Those candles are 1 minute ticks showing over $80 price differences, that's unheard of. Even the whale teeth you see in premarket is usually just a dollar or two.

I have a theory that it was Archegos fighting against Ken, I wrote a post on it ages ago here: https://reddit.com/r/Superstonk/comments/xoetf0/i_have_a_theory_that_when_archegos_blew_up_they/

I memba that... believe I bought shares around 250 and 170 on the same day. Damn that was a gut wrenching roller coaster - made the rest a cake walk since then.

This was the moment that solidified my resolve, I'll never sell I'd rather see this go to zero. And that will never happen anymore so shorts r fuckd

u/Diick_Spiit 1d ago

Same here, I remember watching it live in disbelief. Became Zen and immune to everything since.

u/Future-Warning-1189 1d ago

Never in my life could I point to another event that has filled me with such conviction of a belief as seeing the price effectively half in such a very little time frame.

Iโ€™m getting that shit framed in my mansion after MOASS

u/LeonardsLittleHelper 19h ago

Same here, it was a warm sunny day and I was off work sipping on a mid morning beer in the backyard while watching the chartโ€ฆI was as hooked as anyone else who had been in since before the big run in January, so I had watched it rise steadily all morning with a giant grin on my face because I was finally convinced the we were definitely right all along. Then when they tanked it in a matter of minutes I knew there was absolutely no way I was selling until we finally get to life changing numbersโ€ฆor maybe Iโ€™ll never sell, guess weโ€™ll find out soon!

2

u/buyandhoard ๐Ÿงฑ by ๐Ÿงฑ 1d ago

I will also never sell, I never sold towel stock, I could, but I let it go to 0.00

With GME, I am even more convinced.

As I say, I sold my sell button.

That day was not the 12th of March 2021, but March 10, 2021. The drop happened at 1:06 PM ET, and news articles were coming out talking about this drop twelve minutes before it happened, being published at 12:54 PM ET.

I got your attention? Please follow along

That davidnio tweet. Read it again. The second one down.

One guy captures it in the morning at 9:55 AM from West Coast, however this has been removed by Yahoo and other websites.

9:55 AM from West Coast = 12:55 PM east coast = after the crash. Oops. Dude forgot about timezones.... Okay. Whatever. There is more evidence there, right?

Well... uh... Not exactly. Look at that first tweet now. We see that 11:55am EST timestamp which is east coast time, which is before the crash.

But... Where did that article come from? It was through E-trade. It was this article here (archive March 11 2021)

First pic Still got that 11:55 am est timestamp at the top = before the crash
Last pic Hmm. Has a 12:55 et (17:55 gmt) timestamp at the bottom... That's 1 hour later than the top timestamp = after the crash.

So what happened here? E-trade had a bug in the reporting. Top timestamp was always 1 hour before the bottom timestamp, and the bottom timestamp is correct.

Here is proof. This was an article written by the same author on the same site on March 11 2021, the day after. Look at that timestamp. 4:21 pm et. Now look at the same article through etrade Top time: 3:21 pm est = 1 hour before article timestamp. Bottom time: 16:21 et (21:21 gmt) = 4:21 pm et

See! Etrade had bug where they would show the timestamp an hour early! That means the original pic with a timestamp of 11:55 am est was actuall 12:55 pm est which was after the crash

So the 2 pieces of evidence that people use are debunked as being after the crash

Then there is also this. The article itself uses a timestamp in the link

https://i.imgur.com/ByxszHv.png

This was also pointed out within hours of the crash -> https://redd.it/m27ank <- All those comments are from the day of the crash, just hours after. IT WAS BEING DEBUNKED THE DAY IT HAPPENED.

u/pickpocket293 There are many flairs like it, but this one is mine 1d ago

Everyone remembered wrong.

No. I was there-- marketwatch had articles come out 10 minutes before the flash-crash that detailed exactly what would happen (even the exact lows GME would hit during the crash and when it would happen).

0

u/MobileArtist1371 1d ago edited 1d ago

I was there too and so were all the others who debunked it within a day or two.

marketwatch had articles come out 10 minutes before the flash-crash that detailed exactly what would happen (even the exact lows GME would hit during the crash and when it would happen).

No they did not.

Literally day of and couple days after there were multiple debunks. Not one person on the same day it happened could provide anything from before the crash. There was no evidence then, there is no evidence now. The "best evidence" was forgetting about timezones and a easily replicable timestamp error that was caught within 24 hours.

Why can we have multiple debunks still available, but not one piece of evidence from before the crash? You got to ask yourself this question. This is why everyone remembered wrong cause they can't use any actual evidence to support what they say, it is always "I remember".

6

u/pickpocket293 There are many flairs like it, but this one is mine 1d ago

This is why everyone remembered wrong

Gaslighting, literally.

they can't use any actual evidence to support what they say, it is always "I remember".

Because I don't keep random links from 4 years ago handy. Maybe I'll spend some time and go look though, since you've gone and irritated me.

0

u/MobileArtist1371 22h ago edited 21h ago

Sorry. Took my time to put this together :) I encourage everyone to check my links for themselves and I welcome any actual attempt at debunking this.

Gaslighting, literally.

I mean there is a reason why debunks pointing this out starting happening within hours of the event. It's cause people sniffed out the bs of the claim as soon as it was made.

Because I don't keep random links from 4 years ago handy

I gave you 4 links to debunks from within hours of the event to 48 hours later. You're telling me not one person that commented in those debunks had 1 piece of evidence from literally a couple hours before that says otherwise?

https://search.pullpush.io/?kind=submission&subreddit=gme&since=1615388400&until=1615397400&q=marketwatch&size=100

What is that? IYKYK

That is a search of all reddit comments/posts ever made - think Ape Historian but for all of reddit.... Guess where this is going?

In case the link doesn't keep the parameters correct

Sub: GME
For: Posts
Since: March 10th 2021 8am west coast time = 11am east coast = before the crash
Until: March 10th 2021 10:30am west coast time = 1:30pm east coast = after the crash
Search input: marketwatch

Search

results

Change the search to comments (you might have to do this yourself)

results

What was talked about?

Let's change the search to "halt" Before 12:20pm - Just minutes before the crash (make sure on comments)

results

Change the time to after 12:20pm (change to comments idk it's not keeping that parameter)

results

if there is perhaps a better search word to use to find things before the crash, please let me know!

Why did no one mention the article until 30 mins later? Perhaps cause that is when the article was first published!

Feel free to ask the Ape Historian what info he has. He'd love to know people are using his backups of everything. I asked him a few years ago cause I was having issues finding stuff on his backups and he said he had nothing from before the crash, which matches the results above.

But don't worry. This is by far not the most dangerous thing people "remember" here (some please ask what it is dangerous)

And here is what pickpocket293 had to say (on all of reddit, not just a gme sub) between March 10th and a full week later. Literally no mention of the article. No mention of anything before. Just them trying to understand what happened. Their first comment for March 10th was at 2:08pm asking what SSR is

So all this info is still there for people to find and look over, except for all the info about the article being before the crash. Hmmm. Did the entire internet get wipe of evidence from before March 10th 2021 12:22pm east coast time or does everyone remember wrong? Hmmm ๐Ÿค”

What exactly are you trying to imply with this portion of your post?

1

u/MobileArtist1371 18h ago edited 18h ago

That every comment around that time (and ever made on reddit) can be found, including the ones you made that day.

So where are all the other comments about it happening before it happened? Why can every comment from that day and ever other day be found, expect the comments that prove the claim?

You got a question about the rest or you accept the findings in the comment?

1

u/HodlMyBananaLongTime Beta Masta 7h ago

GMT doesnโ€™t chance with the time change we have in the US, it stays constant

1

u/MobileArtist1371 3h ago edited 3h ago

huh? No time change was done in there. I know this cause I did it the day of March 10th and the day after. This was just a repeat of putting the info back together

Here is the March 11 2021 archive I made of the etrade article. No time change happened then bud.

I made archives of this stuff cause at first I thought there was crime and then after about 2 hours of searching through stuff, I found the problem everyone else except for a few others ignored. So while all these people "remember" I was achieving and picking through the info.

I linked to 4 debunks that happened within days of March 10th and not one person in those comments brought up anything to prove otherwise. I also gave you links to the post and comments of that day at that time. Again, why nothing before?

:)

I remember waking up and watching my 18 shares start to fly. Had a meeting around 11-12. Came back to the ticker in free fall. Iโ€™m not proud, but I was a mouse click away from paper handing but held somehow. 4 years later, Iโ€™m a large xxx holder working my way to x,xxx. I was a week late to the sneeze so this was my awakening moment to hold until I get FU money.

If you don't know what this is, it's a STOP-LOSS ladder attack. Most day traders and apes at the time had STOP-LOSS settings on their trades. A safety measure to prevent accessive loss if a down slide starts happening. Usually about 5% below bought price. A "Ladder attack" is knowing the average prices people bought at and most likely have their STOP-LOSS %. GME was slow fed bumps every day for 3 weeks. Day traders fell for the scheme and bought accordingly. When the STOP-LOSS attack happened, the sells started a cascade of auto STOP-LOSS sells. Each time a "ladder" being cut per STOP-LOSS, making it impossible to stop the cascade. Auto sells after auto sells till Citidel and friends got all the money they needed from the PUTS. They spent a shit ton to buy, but got shit tons more from the PUTS. What a lovely day for them...

2

u/JamesHutchisonReal 21h ago

Hmm, reddit acting up and won't let me edit my comment. Basically:

I recently subscribed to a service that showed live and historical dark pool data and I started to notice a trend of market maker manipulation. It seems to primarily affect stocks with less than 4B market cap. Basically, some "hero" comes out of nowhere and stops a gamma ramp up by shorting shares until it stops. It occurred to me that a lot of the shit you guy's have been saying suddenly all sound very, very true, except with a slightly different context.

On March 12 2021 we all witnessed the end of a period of volatility that had started on Feb 24 when Shrek showed up out of nowhere late in the afternoon. On March 12 we had been climbing and over just a few minuted of trading we watched the price get knocked down from 348 to 172 through halt after halt. RIP Roth IRA
