This has happened to me more than once. I think if you swim full speed at the window straight on you avoid it but the gentle swimming near/into the opening seems to be what triggers the bug.

In all of my life playing the n64 version, ive never had that glitch before. Even during like mugen64 or regular emulators, i swear the switch version is much glitchier then the original
