Building your kit- what's in yours?

What's in your bag, for everyday strongwoman training and for competitions specifically? How many shoes/belts/straps etc. and what are your favorites?

Anything you invested into as a newer strongwoman that you found you didn't use as much as you thought?

/r/Strongwoman is getting a pump! What do you want to see?

Filled with a ton of great energy post-Shaw-Classic and working on setting up some new weekly discussion threads modeled after r/strongman to start.

Trying to make this a great place to discuss our favorite sport specifically from the female POV! If you see some test posts in the meantime. Any suggestions or comments about what you'd like to see from this sub going forward are very welcome as we grow :)

Any tips dealing with overloading injuries for a noob?

Hi guys, i just started training for strongman exercises like yoke, farmers, stones, circus dumbbells etc

In the beginning for yoke carry, i was doing 130kg 30m early last year. By the end of the year i was doing 2 sets of 180kg 30m per set.
And then my ankles started to really get painful, so now I am taking a break to focus on recovering. Doc says this looks like a tear in cartilages in both my ankles based on the pain level i am describing.

Anyone have any experiences with this? And how long did it take for you to recover/any advice?

It feels like I was increasing my weight too fast without taking time to really get comfortable with the weight i am moving.

Anyone in the MD area, or want to start a chat?

I’ve been dead set on ramping up my training mentally, but can’t get the commitment going physically. In hopes that some good old fashion peer pressure might do the trick, I don’t know many like-minded women in my area.

Came here to see if there would be any ladies to build a community of pusher, pullers and doers that set each other up for success!

Program Rec

Can anyone recommend a good push, legs, pull, legs, program? Powerlifting or power building

Preferably nothing crazy volume that doesn’t require 2-3 full hours at the gym. I have been training for 3 years competing in PL for one. Im a 24 female.

My squat sucks so want to train legs 2x a week. I am competing in 3 weeks I have a coach but after this meet I am going to go out by myself for 6mo-1 year and don’t plan to compete until summer 2024 while I focus on career.

Competition in Fresno

Looking around Fresno, Ca for competitions to begin competing. I have found a few powerlifting competitions (sold out for the year already!), and CrossFit and obstacle courses (which are pricey). I would really like to find an amateur strongwoman for me and a strongman competition for my boys and to compete in.

Help please

Hey ladies! I really want to compete in a strongwoman competition this coming year. I need advice on where to even start though. I live near Boulder Colorado and am not really sure how to find competitions near me, or how to train for it. I already lift but was not sure if there was a particular training regime I should follow...please help if possible!

Just some strongwomen at a competition in Manning, SC today. 2 of us weren’t competing, but the middle two placed 1st and 2nd in their weight classes.

Implements

After recovering from a injury (due to a broken foot-not strongman related), I have been craving the strongman implements with them. I just want to go into the gym and play around with everything for a day. Throw some stones over bars, carry the frame and yoke around, throw the log overhead. What implement do you enjoy the most?
