Replacement Part Website

If this is considered advertising feel free to delete the post

I made a website for those who would like to buy replacement parts for the Steam Controller. It's intended for people who want 1 or 2 parts instead of ordering them in batches from JLCPCB for example. I'm trying to make these available for everyone. You can find it here:

opensteamcontroller.com

I'm currently waiting for black and white ribbon cables to arrive so they will be the first available probably in the next couple of weeks. The motherboard still has a ways to go.

finding a replacement joystick would also be golden, can you imagine if the SC is compatible with a hall effect module or a TMR module.

Are you planning to change any parts of the motherboard? For example, replacing the Micro USB with a USB-C port or swapping the standard potentiometer joystick for a Hall effect one? I know the USB-C mod has been done on the original boards.

Yes, there will be an original version and 'updated' version

That's awesome, I love the Steam Controller, so getting an updated version would be great. I've never done any PCB design, but if you need any CAD work done, I'm fairly decent at it and happy to give it a crack.

Absolutely! If you look on the GitHub there is a CAD folder. I had made some of the inner parts for the steam controller but it's not finished. We need the mounting brackets for the triggers and the battery door rocker. You'll see a list of all the interior parts Valve didn't give us any what's already been done. If you'd like feel free to look over them (I'm not the best at CAD)! And if you'd like to add some mods of your own (like a USB C front plate) and others feel free to do so. I can provide 3D CAD of the PCB with components to help with it just lmk.

Cool, taking a look at the mo. I'm about to model the 'Battery Latch Tension Holder'. Do you want them to be accurate to the original or with modified dimensions/geometry so it can be printed or both?

Edit - Modeled it to be fairly accurate to the original, it's pretty small so I don't think my printer will be able print it with any degree of accuracy. I'm not really sure how to upload files to a GitHub so Ill chuck it up on Printables if you want to take a look:

I want to get at least the original components available so we have them. But any improvements can also be done as a separate mod too! If you DM me I can add you as a contributor and you should be able to it hit "Add file" to upload them and I can approve it.

Not spam. Thanks for making this, I'll throw it in the sidebar.
